IP, 4 H, 4 R (4 ER), 1 BB, 1 K, L (0-1)(AAA) Reno Aces 7, Albuquerque Isotopes 6: Justin Donatella’s first AAA start was quite forgettable, although his 2 runs in the 2nd were the result of terrible defense as the Aces (3-5) committed 4 errors behind him. However, the Aces hitters were able to string together 4 runs to take a 4-2 lead. Wyatt Mathieson and Kevin Cron had run-scoring doubles in a 3-run 3rd inning and Cody Decker homered in the 4th. Unfortunately, Donatella would allow a pair of homeruns before exiting with 2 outs in the 5th. The score remained 4-4 until Alex Young would yield the go-ahead run on a RBI double by Noel Cuevas. The Aces responded in the 7th in a big way as Kevin Cron blasted out a 3-run homer that have the Aces the lead for good. Rubby De La Rosa was solid in the 8th and Jimmie Sherfy was very shaky but wiggled out of a bases loaded jam for the save. (AA) Jackson Generals 2 www.stlouiscardinalsteamshop.com/authentic-marcell-ozuna-jersey , Chattanooga Lookouts 6: Emilio Vargas was solid for the second start in a row, pitching 5 shutout on a 4/0 K/BB ratio. Unfortunately the other 24 players did not have a good day. Bud Jeter immediately replaced Vargas in the 6th and was hammered for 4 runs before having to be pulled out of there with 2 outs. Damien Magnifico ended the inning with no further damage and Jamie Westbrook hit a 2-run homer to cut the deficit in half. Unfortunately, that was it offensively as the Generals (3-4) bats went into a deep freeze. Mason McCullough allowed 2 runs in the 8th to put the game out of reach. (A+) Visalia Rawhide 2, San Jose Giants 6: Justin Green cruised through 5 innings, but ran into trouble in the 6th as the first three batters got hits off him and San Jose took a 1-0 lead. Erbert Gonzalez came in to try to keep the deficit at 1-0, but allowed the inherited runners to score. He then proceeded to give up 3 more runs in the 7th, which put the Rawhide in a deep hole. A wild pitch on a walk and a Jake McCarthy RBI single would result in the two runs for Visalia (4-4).(A) Kane County Cougars 7. Cedar Rapids Kernels 3: Justin Lewis and his eyebrows mesmerized the Kernels hitters for 4 innings, allowing just an unearned run in 4 innings with 6 strikeouts. The Kane County (5-3) hitters started off slow, but a big 4-run 6th highlighted by a 3-run homer by CF Tra Holmes allowed the Cougars to get breathing room. Kenny Hernandez piggy-backed off Lewis and allowed 2 runs in 5 innings, with the runs scoring after Kane County had picked up a 7-1 lead. Alek Thomas had 2 hits and a RBI and Geraldo Perdomo walked and stole a base.
