Each of the items mentioned are significant sections of RuneScape which are advertised and promoted greatly. They have an impact on different areas of RuneScape besides for the participants. My rule of thumb would be I purchase bonds to convert to GP, but the GP could simply be used to buy stuff that empowers me to to do content. I can't buy gear with it, since this is accomplished through end game content and bossing. As you said, I buy runes, arrows, darts, planks for building coaching, bones such as prayer etc.. But equipment itself has to be earned - that way, there's still a sense of progression and achievable goals.

From the time eoc came and murdered RuneScape for me I had been maxed combat and had a great bank of about 300m, I was content with that since I never staked it had been earnt through grinding slayer. On and off for a few decades then completely stopped playing rs about 2015, recently come back and joined old school lately with lockdown I'm playing alot more and I don't care if people flame me for buying bonds lol. I did my mill a decade back, if I could skip some grind to buy 2007 runescape gold enjoy higher grade content I will.
