Times have changed considerably. If you want building for a good worthwhile cosmetic QoL skill to build a fantastic home with, you need banking, correct decoration screen, the current portal room need a tune up.

Or it can be a miniature world gate notion: 1 portal site with unlocked places that are teleported added by charging it. Aka all of spellbook teleports available if you pay it to charge just like it is. Training the skill with high EXP rates outside your home the suitable way, and then you build the actual home parts after you are the ideal level. I would be 100% down with Construction being a money sink little to no practical usage in Runescape. The house could do with performance. Like, we can't even put on our beds or sit in our chairs. Let the furniture move around and make a home. If we're given the choice at least to be liberated and enjoy it like a home then I believe that would be a happy medium. You gotta give it performance or usage because as it stands it is a waste of money and I leveled it to get to Prif. I think Higgs focused on modifications that flip the homes into more of an RP focused area as opposed to a service centre. And some thing more like base camp or a Player Owned Barracks might be a good alternative in order to add support performance.

I think they're looking at it as a way to add performance without it being radically different in terms of training and it's influence on external aspects of Runescape. Like incorporating RP performance, than ability 11, more. By making them a place to socialize/facilitate something or parties, sort of like a normal house. I can sort of see where they're coming from, due to the nature of a'house' being what it's IRL, the appearing overwhelming desire of the playerbase is to earn the POH into more of a Player owned base camp or Barracks, somewhere to visit create prepping for other activities faster/easier for a certain player.

Which admittedly a lot of that functionality is already readily accessed other places like Wars Retreat or Max guild. Other than what current POH's have. Which a camp/village's concept may be something cool to amuse for a rework. A larger scale region to train structure, beginning with your residence, then moving on to a payoff for NPC's who could then turn into employees of some sort that produce choices for passive XP gain like POF combined with miscellania. Greater your level the various typed of Old School RS Gold functional buildings your camp could possess, from a smith to substitute the armor rack, to a lender, or even a mage for tele's etc..
