Shanghai authorities reported three new imported cases of the coronavirus Sunday, including one involving a Taiwanese national who flew from Taipei to Shanghai on Aug. 27 and was put in quarantine upon arrival. It was not clear when the test was actually conducted.

The three people confirmed to be infected with COVID-19 have been transferred to designated hospitals for medical treatment, and the 128 people who may have had contact with them have been isolated, the Shanghai authorities said.

CECC spokesman Chuang Jen-hsiang said the center is waiting for Chinese health authorities to provide detailed information on the case. The latest case follows two cases of individuals who tested positive for COVID-19 after traveling from Taipei to Shanghai earlier this month.

In those cases, the CECC said it is doing contact tracing to determine if anybody who may have come in contact with the two individuals shows any signs of the disease.
