Gather your friends and get prepared to RS gold spam chat in Lumbridge, adventurers. Free throwback MMORPG Old School Runescape is making its way to Steam next month. Mere months following Runescape's younger, more modern edition made its way to Valve's shores, Jagex this week announced that it would be bringing the nostalgic 2007-era client to Steam February 24th within the game's 20th anniversary.

As per an announcement article on Steam, you will have the ability to link existing OSRS accounts to pick up where you left off, if that was last week or a decade past. If you're new to Runescape, you'll be able to log in directly with your Steam account. OSRS will be getting all of the Steam faff also, starting with achievements and introducing gambling trades soon after launch.

While pitched as a time capsule of Runescape circa-2007, OSRS is hardly a dead match. The throwback is still plenty active, breaking its parallel participant record just last November. The game even has fresh items, monsters, attributes along with the occasional new landmass, employing a subscriber voting system to guarantee new upgrades stay in the soul of the older game. Just this week, Runescape developer Jagex was acquired by the planet's second-largest private equity firm, The Carlyle Group, that promises to pump more funds to OSRS Gold For Sale the venerable MMO.
