But in time, Richt believes it will pay big

Ole Miss must readjust its goals. Air Max 98 Thunder Blue .So must LSU -- albeit in a much different way -- as No. 23 Ole Miss and No. 25 LSU prepare for their annual encounter Saturday (9 p.m. ET, ESPN) in Baton Rouge, La.The Rebels (3-3, 1-2 SEC) entered the 2016 campaign hopeful the season would end in some kind of championship, but after six games they are sitting at .500 with that title talk in all likelihood muted for good. The Tigers (4-2, 2-1) came into the fall with a preseason No. 5 ranking and harboring hopes of making the College Football Playoff, but started 2-2.Coach Les Miles was fired at that point, but suddenly LSU caught fire under interim coach Ed Orgeron, posting big wins in their last two games (42-7 over Missouri and 45-10 over Southern Mississippi). With only one conference defeat and games remaining against West Division leaders Alabama and Texas A&M, the Tigers see themselves back in the title picture, if not nationally at least in the conference. You can see a little pep in their step. Guys are making plays, guys are having fun, Orgeron said this week. I know they feel good about being 2-0.OIe Miss, coming off a 34-30 loss to Arkansas that dropped it to 1/3 against ranked opponents, are a bit of a mystery. How will quarterback Chad Kelly and company react to the loss at Arkansas that was sealed when he lost a fumble on the Rebels final drive, ending hopes for a comeback win?I think this is when you find out a lot about yourself, a lot about your team, and a lot about your kids, Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze said. The Rebels figure to see their defense, which doesnt rank any better than 74th nationally in total defense, scoring defense, rush defense or pass defense, severely tested by an LSU offense that has come to life the last two games. The Tigers put up 634 yards in total yards against Missouri -- an LSU high against an SEC foe -- and followed that up with 45 points and 459 yards against Southern Mississippi. The Tigers have the SECs fourth-best rushing attack even though they have been operating without star running back and Heisman hopeful Leonard Fournette, who missed the last two games with a left ankle injury.Derrius Guice has filled in admirably for Fournette with 564 yards on 62 carries. Fournette will rejoin him this week to give the Tigers a 1-2 punch that will go right at an Ole Miss defense that ranks 12th in the league against the run. This will be the ultimate test for us playing against Leonard Fournette, Ole Miss defensive end Marquis Haynes said.Orgeron is even toying with the idea of using Guice and Fournette in the backfield at the same time.We want to rotate our guys, we want them to keep fresh, Orgeron said. It might be a possibility of putting them both in the backfield at the same time.Fournette, Orgeron indicated, is anxious to get back on the field. Were going to let him do all he can, Orgeron said, and hes going to tell me, Hey, coach. Im 100 percent, 80 percent, 90 percent. These are the things I can do.Well run the plays hes able to run. The plays hes not able to run, we wont run them. But well play both. I think theyre both outstanding backs.Adding a side note to the matchup is the relationship between the two coaches.Orgeron went 10-25 as Ole Miss coach from 2005-07 and gave Freeze, his first on-field college coaching job in 2006.I really dont know that my career does what it does without the opportunity he gave me, Freeze said.Orgeron said his ties to the program and Freeze wont be a factor this week, however. This is about his players, he said.I wont mention it, he said. Thats the furthest from my mind. This is about the LSU Tigers. This is about this football team. This is about a very good opponent coming into Tiger Stadium. Air Max 98 Supreme Sortie . -- Canadian Andrew Wiggins got the ball on the wing, made a nifty spin move and then let go with a soft floater from about 10 feet that swished through the net in Allen Fieldhouse. After slipping from the summit during the week, the Gunners overcame struggling Crystal Palace 2-0 on Sunday thanks to Alex Oxlade-Chamberlains second-half brace. CORAL GABLES, Fla. -- Mark Richt outstretched his arms, leaned back and fell off the 10-meter diving platform at Miamis aquatics complex as those who were at a recent Hurricanes recruiting event cheered wildly. He flipped in the air, hitting the water feet-first.For Miamis sake, Richt better have bigger splashes coming. As he finishes up preparations for his first training camp as coach of the Hurricanes, Richt is spending plenty of time focusing on his alma maters proud and storied past. A top priority for Richt since leaving Georgia after 15 seasons and returning to Coral Gables has been inviting many Miami legends back to campus, hoping they can help inspire a program that has been mediocre for years.I think our alumni players, our lettermen, they need to know we love them and we want them around here, Richt said. We want their help. We want their support. We try to do a great job to let them know that we want them here. Believe me, theres a lot of eyes bugging out on these young men watching some of these guys walk around. For a recruiting weekend -- Miami called it Paradise Camp -- the Hurricanes had current players and prospects mingling with some of the biggest names in the NFL, all of them Hurricanes past. Michael Irvin, whose son is a freshman player at Miami now, was on the practice field watching as kids ran drills. Jeremy Shockey, Antrel Rolle, Warren Sapp, Phillip Buchanon, Antrel Rolle, Gino Torretta, Duke Johnson, Calais Campbell and others also were around. As night fell and the camp was closing, Richt turned the microphone over to Ray Lewis. What is a legacy without a journey? Lewis asked the campers as his 12-minute, no-notes speech began. What is a journey without a destination? What is a destination without a plan? ... Without a plan, there is no journey.Richt has a plan, and the Hurricanes hope thus begins their journey back to the college football spotlight. Some of the past players were coaching, some of them were merely speaking. It didnt really matter, since for most of the kids it was a thrill just to be around players theyre used to watching on NFL Sundays. Richt -- a member of Miamis Class of 1982, the year before the school won its first national title -- got them all to show up without offering money for their time, or even plane tickets for the alummi from out of town. Air Max 98 Gundam. It really does try to bring back what we had before in a sense of belonging here, Irvin said. This is a hard game. Its very, very, very, very, very, very smart what hes doing. He knows its a tough game physically. You have to try to gain mental advantages and mental edges and this gives you that opportunity. ... One man to another, one generation to another. All of those things are very important when youre trying to build a program. Its not new for past players to be back at Miami. Many past Hurricanes still spend time each offseason training in Coral Gables, and past head coaches like Randy Shannon (like Richt, who played for Miami) and Al Golden often had alumni around in various roles. But there has been a disconnect as well, for a number of reasons. NCAA sanctions brought on in response to the actions of a rogue former booster have limited who can be on the sideline for games, meaning players cant be there like in past years -- something many blamed Golden for, when in actuality it was far from something he decided on his own. This camp, though, was different. To see so many big names back in one place at the same time was significant, and it wont be the last time Richt tries to pull off such a feat. They blessed us by showing up, Richt said. It was phenomenal. In an immediate sense, things like Paradise Camp wouldnt figure to have much impact. Miami isnt expected to compete for a national title this year, nor is it being widely mentioned as an Atlantic Coast Conference championship candidate like Clemson, Florida State and North Carolina. But in time, Richt believes it will pay big dividends. And the biggest splashes the Hurricanes make might not be off high-dive boards much longer.Ive been doing that backflip since I was about 15 years old, Richt said. As long as I keep landing on my feet, Ill do it. If I dont land on my feet, well call 911 and thatll be the last time I try it.Either way, if Richt gets Miami football back on its feet, the risk will seem worthwhile.
