There are a lot of Diablo Immortal's upgrades, currencies Diablo IV Gold, and reward systems, legendary gems are the areas where the business model bites the hardest. Blizzard and NetEase aren't so reckless as to offer directly to players through a loot box or gacha mechanic, however, what they've come up with is, somewhat, more alarming. Legendary gems only drop from those bosses that are randomly placed in Elder Rift dungeons, and you can only ensure that you will get a legendary gem by applying a legendary crest modification to the dungeon prior to starting the dungeon. If not, the drop rates for legendary gems are extremely low.

For those who do not pay for the game, you will only earn one legendary crest every month, and even buying one of the battle passes will give you one or two additional legendary crests every month. Then, you'll need to purchase them directly. Legendary crests work out at approximately $2 and $3 apiece. The large number of gems that you'll need to boost your character's gear and abilities, particularly when you consider the extremely low drop rates of five-star gems, is one of the reason the cost of maxing out your character's capabilities on Diablo Immortal has been estimated at approximately $50,000-$100,000perhaps more depending on how deep you dive into the gem resonance system. Diablo Immortal has been given an extremely rough ride in this business model -- perhaps disproportionately when you consider that other popular free-to play games like Genshin Impact and Lost Ark are not without similar gacha mechanics to lure in large-scale "whale" gamer. Diablo's name and reputation with the core PC gaming population, earned over the course of more than a quarter century cheap Diablo 4 Gold, is certainly an influence. However, it's also true that this particular system is problematic and the character of Diablo games has something to do with it.
