Even without mentioning the recent incidents, the Madden 24 coins has proven that it's solely focussed on making money and gaining for itself and its teams. As USA Today pointed out:

The NCAA is not filled with experts who want to shield athletes from the lure of consumerism. Your local marathon is probably not giving nearly as much to charity you believe it does.

We as fans would like our teams in sports and our favourite leagues to stand for something greater. This is why we support players' charitable efforts and point out their religion when they're questioned on their character and why we don't have no idea about the character of the athletes that we see on TV. We're much more concerned with the moral compass of the Madden NFL 23 then we care about corporations that operate on Wall Street, even though they're much in business for the same purpose.
Part of the reason for this is because we're identified as Madden NFL 23 fans, and therefore, we don't think we should actively support a particular team or a league with morally shaky moral compass.
