ALAMEDA, Calif. Layvin Kurzawa Jersey . -- The Oakland Raiders opened free agency on Tuesday by agreeing to a five-year, $42.5 million contract with offensive lineman Rodger Saffold and keeping oft-injured running back Darren McFadden on a one-year deal worth up to $4 million. Oakland and former New York Jets right tackle Austin Howard also agreed to a five-year, $30 million contract, with $15 million guaranteed, according to two people with knowledge of the deal. The people spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the Raiders had not announced the signing. ESPN first reported Howards deal. But the day was just as notable for the players who left town. Left tackle Jared Veldheer and defensive end Lamarr Houston, considered building blocks in the rebuilding plan, signed as free agents with Arizona and Chicago, respectively. Also, last years leading rusher Rashad Jennings said on Twitter that he was flying to New York and was looking forward to signing a deal with the Giants. After two years of being hamstrung by bad contracts that left little room to manoeuvr, general manager Reggie McKenzie was able to spend for the first time with about $60 million in cap room at the start of the league year. But he chose not to use the franchise tag on either Veldheer or Houston and gave the biggest contract of his tenure to Saffold. Saffold is guaranteed $21.5 million in the deal. He will be paid $16 million for next season and $27.6 million over the first three years in a sign that the Raiders valued the injury-prone Saffold over the home-grown Veldheer. ESPN first reported the terms. Veldheer, a third-round pick in 2010 out of Hillsdale College, had been one of the better acquisitions by late owner Al Davis in his later years running the team, starting 42 consecutive games at left tackle before tearing his triceps in training camp last summer. He missed 11 games last year and did not play up to the level he was at in 2012 after his return. Saffold is a versatile blocker with experience playing both tackle spots and right guard in four seasons with St. Louis. But he has had problems with durability, missing 17 games with a variety of injuries. Howard spent the last three years with the Jets, and started every game the last two seasons after winning the job at right tackle over Wayne Hunter before the 2012 season. The 6-foot-7, 333-pound Howard signed with Philadelphia as an undrafted free agent out of Northern Illinois in 2010. He joined Baltimores practice squad in 2011, and signed by the Jets to their active roster a few weeks later. McFadden had been considered one of the many first-round disappointments in Davis final draft. Picked fourth overall out of Arkansas in 2008, McFadden has missed 29 games in six seasons and never gone through a full season healthy. McFadden had his biggest success in two years with Hue Jackson calling plays, averaging more than 5 yards per carry in 2010 and 11. But he has averaged just 3.3 yards per carry the past two seasons, second-worst in the NFL in that span to the recently retired Rashard Mendenhall. A move from a zone-blocking to a power scheme was supposed to spark McFadden last season but he rushed for just 379 yards and averaged 3.3 yards per carry in 10 games. Jennings was considered a stronger possibility to come back after setting career highs with 733 yards rushing, 292 yards receiving and six touchdowns. Houston, a second-round pick in 2010, had been Oaklands most consistent defensive player the last few years, but the Raiders chose not to pay him as an elite pass rusher because he had only 10 sacks the past two seasons. Serge Aurier Jersey . Heck, we might just miss the BCS. Maybe? It sort of worked out this season. Top-ranked Florida State (13-0) was the only team to get through the regular season unbeaten, and the Seminoles did it in dominating fashion. Julian Draxler Jersey . The Canadians led for much of the game before Argentina forced overtime in the dying seconds of the fourth quarter. Canada weathered the storm after squandering a lead with a series of made shots. "Its a fantastic win for our country with 11 first-time Canadian national team members," said head coach Roy Rana.Melbourne, Australia (SportsNetwork.com) - World No. 1 Rafael Nadal, Wimbledon champion Andy Murray and four-time Australian Open titlist Roger Federer were among Mondays fourth-round winners at Melbourne Park. Nadal, who missed last years Aussie Open due to a knee injury, was tested mightily by Kei Nishikori, but the mighty Spaniard staved off his 16th-seeded Japanese counterpart to claim a 7-6 (7-3), 7-5, 7-6 (7-3) triumph that took more than three hours to complete at Rod Laver Arena. The 13-time major champion Nadal was broken twice by Nishikori in the third set -- receiving a time violation from the chair umpire in one of the games. "Normally I have a good self-control on court, and its true that the moment was a very critical one," Nadal said of the time penalty. Nadal also tripped in the first set and tumbled to the court, prompting him to head to the locker room to change shoes. The 2009 titlist and 2012 Melbourne runner-up will next face 22nd-seeded Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov, who secured a spot in the quarterfinals with a 6-3, 3-6, 6-2, 6-4 victory over Spaniard Roberto Bautista Agut. The 22-year-old Dimitrov will make his first-ever appearance in a Grand Slam quarterfinal in his 14th try, while Nadal will be appearing in his seventh quarter at the Aussie Open alone. Meanwhile, the fourth-seeded three-time Aussie runner-up Murray reached his fifth straight major quarterfinal by getting past French lucky loser Stephane Robert 6-1, 6-2, 6-7 (6-8), 6-2 at Hiisense Arena on Day 8 of this Oz fortnight. Alphonse Areola Jersey. Murray wasted four match points in the third set and smashed his racquet after the third-set tiebreak before advancing. "Hes a fun player to watch, but not a fun player to play," Murray said of Robert, who can baffle with an array of drop shots and groundstrokes. Murray, who was last years Aussie runner-up to Novak Djokovic, will battle Federer in a quarterfinal on Wednesday. The sixth-seeded Federer avenged a quarterfinal loss at the hands of Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga here a year ago by unleashing his full arsenal of shots in dismissing the 10th seed 6-3, 7-5, 6-4. The super Swiss was not broken on Day 8, while Tsonga was broken three times by the 17-time Grand Slam king. The former world No. 1 Federer tied Jimmy Connors record by reaching his 41st Grand Slam quarterfinal. Its also the 11th straight year the Swiss icon has reached the quarters at Melbourne Park. Tsonga was the 2008 Aussie Open runner-up to Djokovic. The quarterfinals will commence Tuesday, as a second-seeded Djokovic takes on eighth-seeded Swiss Stanislas Wawrinka and third-seeded David Ferrer meets seventh-seeded Tomas Berdych. The former No. 1 Djokovic is a dominant 15-2 lifetime against Wawrinka, including a fourth-round win here a year ago. The Serbian star also topped the Swiss in a U.S. Open semifinal last season. Last years French Open runner-up Ferrer is 7-4 lifetime versus the former Wimbledon finalist Berdych. NFL Jerseys From China China NFL Jerseys Cheap NFL Jerseys Wholesale Cheap NFL Jerseys Cheap Jerseys 2018 Cheap Jerseys Cheap Jerseys China ' ' '
