I don't know the best way to describe you this? Yes they were not the only people on Earth playing RuneScape self enough, but they are the reasons we have official ironman sport modes.

Jagex possibly likes to charge boaty because he is their golden boy, he has the biggest pursuing so jagex likes to be close to him. The gamemode would have likely been put into the game without their help as well, although they helped.
