Adapting the approach into the decreased capacity sounds like this daily update item is temporary until you are able to operate from the office again? Or is it a permanent point? Which are"existing plans"? Before the plans were shelved, it might have been nice to understand that these. Are these openings a 3/6/12 month gaps between big update/expansions? And by changing programs does this mean longer doing large updates/expansions?
Frankly, I am fine with that if it did sound a little PR'y because they're throwing themselves at it to be honest. A team actively look to respond and find opportunity in a situation that impacts production output is quite rare in my own experience. It might have been easier from a development standpoint to stay the course and just accept the slower delivery cadence - and lots of teams would choose that choice and toss out the COVID justification.
Talking for this as a witness management is no small task. There's a huge knock on in so many areas - brainstorms upon brainstorms, scoping, reformatting teams, working out how to make meaningful content on smaller timeframes and so on. That all takes effort, time and a lot of coordination - then you need to go perform on it. But the hope is that this is the correct way to visit deliver additive material and prevent huge gaps.
On the WFH front, your case is precisely the same for some others here at Jagex too, but maybe not for many (especially those with kids or less than perfect work environments). We have internal Wellness polls which people respond to along with Production Estimates that have shown the gradual drop in productivity - final estimate was over 30 percent down. I can say I not working and more taxed. It's a challenging situation for many.
On approach: That is an adaptation to our scenario right now. We want to return to those Archaeology sized material strikes in the future. If this approach is actually popular Nevertheless, I can not imagine we would not take cues from this in our article remote-working strategies.
