To get their hands on head-on-heads in OSRS gold  a Golden Party Hat, players will need to meet "various goals" and collect eight golden shreds for their efforts. When all eight are collected, they can be made into the Golden Party Hat.

But it's not just the event time-limited, but only one golden hat will be made for each participant. Just like their predecessors from 2001 Jagex says of the golden the hats "after the cut-off date they will not be earned again!"

If the new item has the potential to disrupt the game's economy by reducing the value of existing partyhats or turns into an even more expensive item remains to be determined. Jagex will be celebrating this occasion with the same and will transform the in-game Grand Exchange location into "a Golden Party Hat winter wonderland".

The golden hat is the crowning addition (sorry) to RuneScape's year-long 20th-anniversary celebrations. It's launching in conjunction with the returning partyhat event, it's the fourth and last part of the anniversary quest, Once Upon a Time, running all year long.

A fitting title Finale appropriately, the chapter can be described as "the closing of the adventure that investigates RuneScape's historical, future, and present and ends the story's journey to an end for Relomia the antagonist of the quest."

Finale will see players visiting three locations namely, The Black Knight's Fortress, the World Gate, and the Kami-Shima island - that could reveal glimpses of the possible futures. The completion of the chapter will reward players with "four Quest points, a new T5 magic dice.

The final reward track unlocks by this month's Quest Point Caravan, a medium-sized XP lamps, the Shadow Rip home of Relomia, Teleport's cosmetic override Two Treasure Hunter keys" and "one additional bonus to be found".

In giving players an extended amount of time to earn a ton of XP on the table this way, it's an excellent opportunity to celebrate all the game has gone through and where it can go in the future. There's only a few of these per year, it's possible that we'll have wait a few months for to experience the following one. It's important to plan your goals and figure out how you're going to get the most benefit from those extra XP.

When is the next Double XP event in RuneScape?

We saw our very only Double XP event of 2021 in the year that ended the previous one in November. Over the last few years, there's been just four events per year . For obvious reasons. They have to be big!

When looking towards the next time we would be attending we thought we'd see it in late February. It turned out to be true. . Since as far back as 2014, there's been a Double or Bonus XP event happening at the moment. The players get 48 hours of Double XP to make use of over about 10 days. There was one outlier where the event lasted for 21 days but the 10 day events tend to attract massive numbers of players due their restricted nature.
