CLEVELAND -- After a difficult April, the Cleveland Indians are starting to play a bit better. Kevin King Super Bowl Jersey . Asdrubal Cabrera had four hits and three RBIs, Michael Brantley also homered and the Indians beat the injury-riddled Minnesota Twins 9-4 Thursday for their first three-game winning streak this season. Cleveland went 5-2 on a homestand that followed an 0-6 trip to San Francisco and the Los Angeles Angels. "Were still inconsistent at some things, but were doing a lot of things better than we were," manager Terry Francona said. "Were playing with a little more confidence, a little more purpose. ... Its just a little better feel." Cabrera, who entered hitting .215, had a solo homer in the second inning and RBI doubles in the seventh and eighth. He also singled in the fifth. "Shows how smart I was, I was going to give him the day off," Francona said. "He talked me out of it." Cabrera declined to talk with reporters after the game. Francona thought he should have been credited with a triple in his final at-bat, which would have given him a cycle. Brantley hit a two-run homer in the fifth and had an RBI grounder in the sixth. He also doubled and scored in the first, then singled in the third. "Hittings contagious," Brantley said. "It was fun to be a part of." Justin Masterson (2-1) allowed four runs -- two earned -- four hits and four walks in 6 1-3 innings. Kevin Correia (1-4) gave up four runs, eight hits and four walks in 4 1-3 innings for the Twins. Minnesota played its fourth straight game without first baseman Joe Mauer, who could be headed to the disabled list because of back spasms. Outfielder Sam Fuld was placed on the seven-day DL with concussion-like symptoms, leaving infielder Pedro Florimon as Minnesotas only bench player when the game began. "Were looking for nine right now, nine people that can play," manager Ron Gardenhire said. Shortstop Eduardo Escobar was forced to play the outfield for the second straight day and struggled again. He misjudged a fly ball in left field in the ninth inning Wednesday night that led to Cleveland scoring the winning run. Brantley doubled with two outs in the first Thursday, advanced on ball four to Carlos Santana and David Murphy hit a line drive directly at Escobar. Escobar froze, then broke back too late to make the catch as the ball landed on the warning track. Brantley scored, but Santana was out on a relay throw to the plate. Escobar dropped Lonnie Chisenhalls sinking line drive in the seventh, but avoided an error by throwing to second to force Ryan Raburn, who had held up to see whether the ball would be caught. Cabrera led off the second with a home run. Brantleys homer scored Nick Swisher, who started the fifth with a walk. Cleveland (15-19) headed to Tampa Bay for the start of a series. The Indians are 4-11 away from home. "Weve got to play really well," Francona said. "Were going to a tough place to play." NOTES: Indians CF and leadoff hitter Michael Bourn returned after missing three games with a tight left hamstring. He had a sacrifice fly in the seventh. ... INF Eduardo Nunez was recalled from Triple-A Rochester to take Fulds roster spot. ... Santana broke an 0-for-21 slump with an infield hit in the fifth. ... Minnesota added RHP Matt Guerrier to the 40-man roster after selecting his contract from Rochester. LHP Brooks Railey was claimed by the Los Angeles Angels after being placed on waivers. ... Florimon and OF-C Chris Herrmann were optioned to Triple-A Rochester following the game. ZaDarius Smith Super Bowl Jersey .J. Ward appeared in court Friday on misdemeanour charges that he threw a glass mug at a bartender at a Denver strip club. Jaire Alexander Super Bowl Jersey . we were turning it over too much i

Prior to the start of this season, the Calgary Flames and Edmonton Oilers had very different expectations. Geronimo Allison Super Bowl Jersey . The Oilers fan base was expecting the teams first playoff berth since the 2005-2006 season while the Flames were entering a franchise rebuild after trading cornerstone Jarome Iginla at the trade deadline the previous season and losing long-time starting goaltender Miikka Kiprusoff to retirement. On Saturday night, the Flames skated to an 8-1 romp over the Oilers in Edmonton, leaving many to wonder which team was further ahead in the race for the playoffs next season. Not surprisingly, the Flames currently sit well outside of a playoff spot with most fans showing the patience and support for the rebuild that president of hockey operations and interim general manager Brian Burke has asked for. The Oilers, on the other hand, now sit last in the Western Conference, six points behind the Flames and mathematically eliminated from the playoffs with a fan base fed up with a fifth straight losing season. President of hockey operations Kevin Lowe pronounced the team to be "poised for greatness" last season, yet that greatness remains to be seen. With both team already looking toward next season, the question in the Battle of Alberta is which team will make the playoffs first: the Flames or the Oilers? On paper, it would appear the advantage is with the Oilers. The team has three former first-overall draft picks on their roster and two other first-round picks in Sam Gagner and Jordan Eberle. Their goaltending tandem is set for next season with Ben Scrivens and Viktor Fasth and the team has their 2013 first-round pick, Darnell Nurse, developing in the OHL. However, the Oilers recent struggles has surrounded the team with question marks, including entertaining thoughts of trading one of the young stars to meet another need. The Flames appear to be on a much steadier course, trusting in Burke to put together a team that will enter the playoffs in the near future. Burkes history with rebuilding the Vancouver Canucks and Toronto Maple Leafs inspires confidence that, with time, the team will reach the playoffs. Burke also put the finishing touches on the Anaheim Ducks that propelled them to a Stanley Cup. "I think I add a value. Ive been able to fix just about every team Ive worked for, sometimes quicker than others." Burke said when he was introduced as a member of Flames organization. Burke also inspired confidence with his 2013 first-round draft pick Sean Monahan. Monahan is second on the Flames in goals this season with 19 and fifth on the team in total points with 31. Both the Oilers and Flames will likely be in the draft lottery this season with a chance to select first overall, a disappointment for Edmonton and an expectation for Calgary. "Im an impatient guy. We have to do some bold things to move this team forward in a rapid fashion. We have to a better job arming our coaches and our core players with a group to get us to a highly-competitive level," Craig MacTavish said when he was introduced was the Oilers general manager last season. Moving forward, the Battle of Alberta may be turning into a race to see which team will make the playoffs first. Will the Flames steady rebuild pay off with a post-season entrance before the Oilers find a solution to their recent woes? Or will the Oilers embarrassment of young talent come together and deliver the playoff appearance fans are growing restless for? So, which team will make the playoffs first: the Oilers or Flames? As always, its Your! Call. JK Scott Super Bowl Jersey .Cameron sustained his third concussion in three seasons last week on a hit by Oakland safety Brandion Ross, who was fined $22,050 by the NFL for the helmet-to-helmet blow. ZaDarius Smith Super Bowl Jersey .C. - Alberta prop Andrew Tiedemann will captain Canada against Uruguay on Friday, the opening day of competition at the IRB Americas Rugby Championship.(SportsNetwork.com) - The free-falling Vancouver Canucks will try to halt a four-game slide when they welcome the Calgary Flames for Saturdays clash at Rogers Arena. This evenings game also marks the first meeting between these clubs since their infamous encounter in Vancouver on Jan. 18. The Canucks recorded a 3-2 shootout win that night, but the game is best remembered for the antics of Vancouver head coach John Tortorella, who tried to break into the opposing teams locker room to start an altercation with Flames coach Bob Hartley during the first intermission. Tortorella was angered by Hartleys decision to start the game with his fourth line. The heated contest saw 150 penalty minutes assessed to both sides by the time the game was only 4 1/2 minutes old, owing to a second minor scrum a short time later. The meltdown cost Tortorella dearly, as he was forced to serve a 15-day suspension without pay. Despite the unpleasantness surrounding the last meeting, Vancouver should be happy to face the Flames on Saturday. Vancouver has taken five straight and seven of the last eight games in this series overall and Calgary also has lost five in a row in B.C. The Canucks have fallen on hard times over the last few months, losing 11 of 12 and 20 of their last 25 games. The clubs current 0-3-1 slide is the clubs third losing streak of four or more games since the start of the 2014 calendar year. In spite of the protracted funk, Vancouver still finds itself just four points out of a playoff spot in the Western Conference. Vancouver suffered a rough loss in its last appearance, getting slammed 6-1 in Dallas on Thursday. Tyler Seguin fueled the rout for the Stars, recording a hat trick and two assists. Zac Dalpe supplied Vancouvers lone score and Eddie Lack conceded five goals on 17 shots. Lack is the clubs No. 1 option in net since the club dealt Roberto Luongo to the Florida Panthers on Tuesday and the rookie could get another start on Saturday. "I think were all kind of disappointed with the way it has been here lately, and I know we are not out of a playoff spot," Lack said. Aaron Jones Super Bowl Jersey. "We just have to battle through it. Weve got to refocus and come back on Saturday." Jacob Markstrom, who was one of the players acquired in the trade that sent Luongo to the Panthers, made his Vancouver debut at the start of the third and gave up one goal on five shots. Shawn Matthias, another player gained in the Luongo trade, failed to register a point in his first game with the Canucks, but he did fire seven shots on net. Canucks forward Zack Kassian was given a boarding major and a game misconduct for his hit on Dallas defenseman Brenden Dillon in the loss. On Friday, Kassian was handed a three-game suspension and hell serve the first part of that ban on Saturday. The Canucks will try to get something positive going while playing their next two games on home ice. Vancouver is 15-10-6 as the host this season and will cap a brief two-game stay at Rogers Arena when it welcomes the New York Islanders on Monday. The Flames, who are 13 points out of a playoff spot, were able to win a second straight game on Friday night, rallying to beat the visiting New York Islanders by a 4-3 score. Joe Colborne scored twice in a three-goal third-period burst to help Calgary down the Islanders at the Saddledome. Sean Monahan also tallied during the rally, while Markus Granlund added a first-period short-handed goal for the Flames, winners in three of four and nine of their last 13 games. Joni Ortio came up with 23 saves for the win. "As a team we were turning it over too much in the first two periods," said Calgary forward Mark Giordano. "But then we rallied in the third and it felt good to get this win." Forwards Jiri Hudler and Matt Stajan and defenseman Dennis Wideman all missed Fridays game and are questionable for Saturday. Calgary has lost of its last three road games and is just 11-16-4 as the visiting team this season. ' ' '

PRETORIA, South Africa - More than a year after he killed his girlfriend, Oscar Pistorius is expected to finally answer questions about why he shot Reeva Steenkamp through a toilet door when his murder trial resumes this week and his defence lawyers begin presenting the evidence they hope will save the Olympic athlete from going to prison for 25 years to life. Air Max 270 React Achat . Pistorius account that he killed Steenkamp by mistake is going to "stand or fall" with his testimony in court, a legal expert says. Charged with premeditated murder for Steenkamps death, Pistorius and his defence team say he will testify to counter accusations that he intentionally killed Steenkamp by firing four times through the door in his bathroom before dawn on Valentines Day last year, hitting her in the head, arm and hip. Pistorius says he mistook Steenkamp for a dangerous intruder hiding in a toilet cubicle. South Africa has no trial by jury, meaning Judge Thokozile Masipa will pronounce Pistorius guilty or not guilty of murder, and Pistorius has the chance to convince her that he did not intentionally kill the 29-year-old model. But Pistorius testimony also gives prosecutors the chance to cross-examine the celebrated double-amputee runner and scrutinize every aspect of his story. Facing a possible life sentence, his questioning by chief prosecutor Gerrie Nel could be the biggest challenge yet for the 27-year-old Pistorius, a disabled athlete who fought for years to win the right to compete alongside able-bodied runners and made history by running at the 2012 Olympics. Brian Webber, one of Pistorius lawyers, said they had no choice but to put Pistorius on the stand. Legal experts say its a risk Pistorius defence has to take. In a rare comment after the prosecution closed its case, Pistorius said "we have a lot ahead of us." Pistorius often reacted emotionally to details of Steenkamps death in the four weeks of prosecution-led testimony at his trial. He retched loudly and vomited in court when a pathologist described Steenkamps grisly injuries and cried and frequently covered his ears while sitting in the dock in an apparent attempt to block out graphic testimony. During his own testimony, he will have to describe in depth his fatal shooting of Steenkamp. "He cant ignore it," Marius du Toit, a criminal defence lawyer and former state prosecutor in South Africa who is observing the trial, said of Pistorius testifying. "He has to get into the box and confirm his version and be open to cross-examination. And this matter is going to stand or fall with that." Defendants in South Africa have the right to remain silent but because he has admitted killing Steenkamp, Pistorius is under pressure to tell the court why he decided to shoot through the door with his 9 mm pistol without knowing — in his version — who was on the other side. Prosecutors charge that Pistorius murdered Steenkamp after a fight and he must dispel their accusations that he intentionally shot her as she hid behind the locked door, legal experts say. Pistorius likely wont be the first witness the defence calls on Monday, but he should take the stand straight after pathologist Prof. Jan Botha gives evidence. Pistorius has not yet spoken publicly about the shooting, only giving his side in a written statement at his bail hearing a year ago and in court documents presented at the start of the trial last month. In those statements, Pistorius claims to have been in a loving relationship with Steenkamp but, in fear for his life, he shot at what he thought was an intruder after hearing a window being opened in his bathroom and then a noise inside the cubicle. Even if he is acquitted of murder, Pistorius faces a negligent killing conviction which can carry a five-year prison sentence. His testimony must show that he acted reasonably when he shot four times from close range. "A reasonable man most probably would not have fired four shots through the door," lawyer and observer du Toit said. "His actions were definitely not reasonable and I think thats his biggest problem." ___ Gerald Imray is on Twitter at www.twitter.com/GeraldImrayAP Air Max 270 Just Do It Noir .Shipulin pulled away from Martin Fourcade of France, Simon Eder of Austria and Fredrik Lindstrom of Sweden to finish in 35 minutes 16.8 seconds. NEW YORK, N. Wholesale Jerseys 2020 .Y. - As if they were enjoying a morning coffee together, Pete Carroll and John Fox fulfilled their final media obligations leading to the Super Bowl. Relaxed, self-assured and even charming, the coaches of the Seattle Seahawks and Denver Broncos answered questions for 30 minutes on Friday, joking with each other and the audience. No grumpy one-sentence responses. No agitated reactions to edgy queries. At one point, Fox wondered if he could say a specific crude word to the audience on hand. Watching on television, he then went ahead and used the word. Carroll immediately quipped: "You cant say that, John," eliciting laughs from reporters — and from Fox. Neither man seemed overwhelmed or even antsy about the biggest game of his life coming up on Sunday, even as they sat with the Vince Lombardi Trophy that is given to the NFL champion. "I think its a pinnacle for probably everybody that does what we do," said the 58-year-old Fox, who was with the Giants when they lost the 2001 Super Bowl to Baltimore, and led the Panthers there when they fell to New England in 2004. "Its something you work really hard (for). "As Pete mentioned earlier, you take individuals and try to paint a picture of where you want to get to. I think this is the pinnacle of it. Unlike different levels of football, theres only one happy camper at that end. Thats going to be the team hoisting that trophy." Carroll has hoisted championship hardware, but in college with Southern Cal. This is his first trip to the big game — he had never even attended a Super Bowl before this one. "The trophy really does symbolize the ultimate challenge and competitiveness in our sport and in our world of coaching or playing," said the 62-yard-old Carroll. "To dream about being in this position as a kid and then working all through the years of coaching, battling and watching other guys do it and for the first time for us; its a tremendous honour. "Its a tremendous opportunity and it creates an extraordinary challenge to see if you can be the one. It symbolizes a tremendous amount to all of us. We all live with that, our players and our coaches. Its great to be here, and (Im) thrilled to be doing it, too. It makes for so much fun. The whole buildup, the whole following, knowing its a global event on game day just adds to the fun of this thing. The challenge continues to be out there for us to reach for, so its very exciting." Both coaches have defensive backgrounds, and they made note of that. Yes, the NFL has become a light-up-the-scoreboard league — and no team ever did it better than Foxs Broncos, who scored 606 points this season. But Fox and Carroll made their reputations as defensive co-ordinators before becoming head coaches. Carroll spent one season in charge of the Jets and three with the Patriots before heading to USC. Fox led Carolina for nine seasons. "Youve got a couple old DB coaches here, and its interesting thats how it turned out," Carroll said. "It is an offensive era that were in, and with all the passing game its gone crazy. Maybe its fitting that weve been fighting our whole life trying to slow this thing down, and we get a chance to do it here on the biggest stage. "Really we have very similar paths and the fact that were defensive guys, maybe that gives the defensive guys hope that maybe we can hire one of those guys in the league soon." That already is happening, perhaps with the theory that strong defensive minds can slow down the points parade. Of the seven head coaching hires this year, four were filled by offence-oriented coaches (Bill OBrien, Jim Caldwell, Ken Whisenhunt, Jay Gruden) and three by defensive guys (Lovie Smith, Mike Zimmer, Mike Pettine). "I came up with a guy, Chuck Noll, who is a defensive guy, who I learned a lot from," Fox said of the Hall of Fame coach of the Steelers. "Ive been blessed to be around a lot of great people from ownerships on down to general managers, front office people, as well as coaches. You always take pride. This is a prideful thing to be in this position and play in a game like this with such great history. "Dont forget about those defensive guys moving forward." Wholesale NFL Jerseys .ca. Got a question on rule clarification, comments on rule enforcements or some memorable NHL stories? Kerry wants to answer your emails at cmonref@tsn. Ibraheim Campbell Jersey .ca! Hey Kerry, Love the column, read every one. To get right to the point, why was Dennis Seidenbergs elbow to the head of Bobby Ryan on Friday night not even clued for a hearing? Ryan was clear shaken up on the play and did not return to the game. In my eyes, Seidenberg reached out to make contact and, intentional or not, caught Ryan right in the head. Some of whom I have spoken to said Ryan appeared to sell it a little, but even if so, it deserves a review, right? I mean, he didnt come back for a reason. Thanks Kerry,Jacob Messing Jacob: Given the number of suspensions handed out by the Player Safety Committee for illegal contact to the head and dangerous hits, I can appreciate why you might feel this play should have resulted in a formal hearing. I can assure you that the committee did review the play from all angles and determined the elbow delivered to the chin of Bobby Ryan did not warrant special attention. In this instance, I concur with their finding. Let me share some of the reasons why. While Bobby Ryan was shaken up on the play we do not know to what extent. With just 3:25 remaining and the Sens ahead by a score of 4-2, it would make little sense for Ryan to return to the game even if he was capable. Following contact to the head of this nature, NHL protocol would require that Ryan be evaluated by the medical staff which would also prevent his return prior to the expiration of regulation time. On the play it appears that Dennis Seidenberg was setting up and prepared to engage Bobby Ryan with body to body contact. Ryan altered his body posture and position when he initiated a stopping motion and pulled back to avoid or minimize contact. Seidenberg countered Ryans altered posture with an extended hand and elbow at the last second resulting in a glancing blow to Bobby Ryans chin. Seidenberg also looked away from his opponent as he extended to make contact. Following the contact, Bobby Ryan did have some spring in his legs as he jumped backward and fell to the ice.  This reaction might give the impression some embellishment took place. There was sufficient impact to Ryans chin from the glancing blow however that created a "whip-lash" action and stunned the Ottawa star so I would not want to suggest that Bobby Ryan was simply trying to sell the call. I see this as an illegal attempt by Dennis Seidenberg to make himself bigger and to initiate contact a split second after Bobby Ryan altered his posture. I do not see it as a deliberate attempt by Seidenberg to injure Bobby Ryan with the use of his elbow. This was clearly a missed elbowing penalty by the referee. As a result of the apparent injury sustained to the head of Bobby Ryan, a major penalty and automatic game misconduct should have been assessed to Dennis Seidenberg of the Boston Bruins.  Jace Sternberger Jersey . According to a report from ESPN, the veteran safety has signed another one-year deal with the team Raiders, the team that drafted him, and who he returned to last year after a long stint with the Green Bay Packers. Kingsley Keke Jersey . "I have had no discussions with Chad Johnson or his representation," Popp said Friday in an email. However, he appeared to confirm a report on Twitter from TSN this week that Johnson was on Montreals negotiation list.GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Under pressure in subzero weather, Colin Kaepernick kept his cool. Facing a blitz on third-and-8, the elusive San Francisco 49ers quarterback scrambled 11 yards out of trouble to set up Phil Dawsons 33-yard field goal as time expired for a 23-20 win Sunday over the Green Bay Packers in an NFC wild-card game. Doesnt matter where or when -- the 49ers keep figuring out how to beat Green Bay. "Didnt think we were going to pull it out, did you?" coach Jim Harbaugh said. When its Kaepernick and the 49ers facing the Packers, the game is never over. Even in the meat locker that was Lambeau Field, where the temperature at kickoff was 5 degrees, with a wind chill of minus-10. No sweat for Kaepernick. He went sleeveless, and didnt wear gloves. "Ive played in cold-weather games before," he said. "I feel like its more mental than anything." San Francisco plays at Carolina next Sunday in the divisional round. Kaepernick threw for 227 yards, including a 28-yard TD pass to Vernon Davis, and ran for another 98, while Michael Crabtree had eight catches for 125 yards for San Francisco. In a back-and-forth fourth quarter, the 49ers (13-4) threw the final punch. Kaepernick escaped a blitz to get to the 27 with 1:13 left. "Just trying to figure out a way to get that first down," Kaepernick said. "Had a play called, we didnt get the look that we wanted. It worked out for us." Dawson nailed the winning kick five plays later -- but only after nearly being blocked by edge rusher Davon House. He was whistled for being offside on the play, but the 49ers declined the penalty with the win in hand. Mason Crosbys 24-yard field goal tied it at 20 for the Packers (8-8-1) with 5:06 left before the 49ers final drive. Until then, Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers did his best to turn into "Captain Comeback" again. After a slow first quarter, Rodgers finished 17 of 26 for 177 yards and touchdown. "Very disappointing, personally," Rodgers said. "Its frustrating not to play your best game in tough conditions. Defence holds them to 23 points. We should win that game." Kaepernick connected with a spinning Davis down the seam for a score with 10:39 left. The TD quickly answered John Kuhns 1-yard run that brieffly gave the Packers a four-point lead. Dorsey Levens Jersey. . That touchdown was set up after Rodgers, in the clutches of a 49ers defender, somehow managed to escape a sack on fourth-and-2 and found Randall Cobb for a 26-yard gain to the Niners 4. Eddie Lacy ran for 81 yards on 21 carries for the Packers, while Frank Gore had 66 yards and a touchdown on 20 carries for the 49ers. But it was Kaepernick who was the difference-maker once again in San Franciscos fourth straight win over Green Bay. He finished 16 of 30 with the touchdown and an interception. For the second year in a row, the Packers season has started and ended with losses to the 49ers. The latest edition of whats turned into a chippy and heated rivalry took place on the worn, frozen turf of Lambeau Field. An injury-filled season for the Packers came to an end. A depleted Packers defence -- already playing without linebacker Clay Matthews -- lost two more starters Sunday in cornerback Sam Shields and linebacker Mike Neal -- but still managed to hold its own against the Niners. "Im just very proud of this team as far as their ability to continue to overcome adversity," coach Mike McCarthy said. "It hit us at every turn, it hit us again today and these guys just keep fighting and fighting." In a memorable playoff debut last January, Kaepernick ran for a quarterback playoff-record 181 yards and a pair of touchdowns. In the season opener in September, the strong-armed quarterback threw for a career-best 412 yards and three scores. This time, he did his damage on the ground and through the air. Kaepernick tore through the Green Bay defence for a 42-yard run, getting a break at one point after House whiffed on a tackle, to set up Gores 10-yard touchdown run that helped give the 49ers a 13-10 halftime lead. "It was unbelievable, the way he was getting the edge. I mean, just clutch," Harbaugh said. "Colin Kaepernick, I think we can all agree, is a clutch performer." Notes: It was the seventh-coldest game at Lambeau Field since 1959, and the fourth-coldest post-season game at the stadium. ... Kuhn has scored a touchdown in each of the last five postseasons. ... After a big day in the season opener against Green Bay, Anquan Boldin was held to three catches for 38 yards. ' ' '

DETROIT -- Chris Sale figures his arm injury could have been a lot worse. Air Max 270 React Winter . The Chicago White Sox believe Sale has a strained muscle in his throwing arm, and the ace left-hander was officially put on the 15-day disabled list Tuesday. There does not appear to be any ligament damage. "Yesterday was as good a news as we could have possibly gotten," Sale said Tuesday. "I think just with kind of the way spring training and the year has unfolded for a lot of pitchers, maybe I (was) a little bit more nervous, just because you dont know." Matt Moore, Kris Medlen, Patrick Corbin and David Hernandez are among the pitchers who have been dealing with significant elbow problems this year, and Sale doesnt appear to be joining that hard-luck group after undergoing an MRI. "First words out of the doctors mouth was, The UCL looks excellent," Sale said. "I heard UCL was excellent, and I walked out. Its about all I needed to hear." Sale said this is similar to an issue he dealt with in 2012, and he "absolutely" expects to be back once hes eligible to come off the DL. The move is retroactive to last Friday. The White Sox recalled left-hander Charlie Leesman from Triple-A Charlotte to start in Sales place against the Detroit Tigers on Tuesday night. Chicago also assigned right-hander Frank Francisco to Charlotte after a stint at extended spring training. He signed a minor league deal April 14. The White Sox have already been dealing with their share of injuries this year. Outfielder Adam Eaton is day to day with a left hamstring strain, and infielder Conor Gillaspie was out of the starting lineup Tuesday with what he described as a minor issue with his left hand. Second baseman Gordon Beckham is out with a strained left oblique, reliever Nate Jones has a strained left hip, and outfielder Avisail Garcia was lost for the season with a torn labrum. So the White Sox can deal with Sales injury if its a relatively minor one. "Youre always concerned when somebody says theyre feeling something different than they normally do," manager Robin Ventura said. "Theres just a relief thats there, and you can tell by the way hes walking around today and talking, he feels pretty good." The 25-year-old Sale is 3-0 with a 2.30 ERA on the season. He threw 127 pitches in a loss to Boston on Thursday, but he wasnt about to put too much blame on that for his injury. "Obviously, this early in the season, it could have something to do with it, but I dont put too much emphasis on pitch count," Sale said. "Whos to say if Id have thrown 18 less pitches that it would have been any better?" Air Max 270 Royal Blue . -- Billy Donovans bench came up big, bailing out top-seeded Florida in a tight game against what was supposed to be an overmatched opponent. Air Max 270 Sepia Stone . The seventh match-up of the Round of 32 sees Anaheim Ducks sniper/bully Corey Perry go up against Boston Bruins pest/point-magnet Brad Marchand. Perrys goal starts with something every elite NHL scorer is able to do on a regular basis: Use exceptional skill to force a defender into taking penalty. He looks to be out of the play after a Calvin de Haan hip-check clips his knee and tumbles him to the ice. However, Perry keeps possession of the puck as the Isles converge on him to try to kill the play by touching the puck. From his knees, Perry has the poise to stickhandle from his backhand to forehand and flip a wrister throughthe nearest daylight he can find: Travis Hamonics legs. The puck pinballs through Hamonics legs, off the keeper and into the net, prompting an emphatic goal call by the ref. Air Max 270 White Volt. Marchands play is a study in second efforts. The pesky Bruin gets around Drew Doughty and sets up what looks like its going to be an incredible one-on-one effort against Jonathan Quick. Doughtys errant stick, however, breaks up the play before Marchand can get a decent shot off. This is not a problem for Marchand, who collects a poor clearance. He then proceeds to fake out Anze Kopitar and beat Quick five-hole with a quick shot. Doughty and Jeff Carter are left with nothing more to do than to watch it unfold. has forced a postponement of the UFC 173

TSN Hockey Insiders Bob McKenzie, Pierre LeBrun and Darren Dreger gathered for the latest installment of Insider Trading and the topics discussed included the injury situation for Team Canada, last second changes to their Olympic roster projections, and headline-making bubble players. Replica Nike Air Max 1 . A lot of concern over potential Team Canada goalie Roberto Luongo after he was run over by Dustin Brown, will he be okay? Darren Dreger: It sounds like good news for Team Canada. The MRI on Luongos ankle didnt detect anything severe; nothing overly concerning. Were told Luongo is walking without a limp and hes feeling better so that should mean Canada is okay to name Carey Price, Roberto Luongo, and Mike Smith as their three goaltenders. As soon as word broke there might be some concern with the long-term health of Luongo, that spawned obvious speculation as to what Steve Yzerman might do if they had to replace him from the mix and the sense that I have is it would have been Marc-Andre Fleury of the Pittsburgh Penguins. Bob McKenzie: Whether were talking Luongo or Steven Stamkos, the potential of having to replace an injured player is a very real one. We should look at what that process is. January 7 is the final day that all the federations and teams and countries have to name their final 25-man roster, but its not really final. In the case of Canada for example, they just nominate those 25 names and at the end of the month, between the 25th and 27th, the Canadian Olumpic Committee then vet that list to make sure there are no suspended players, to make sure everybody has a Canadian passport – that theyre not trying to sneak a Russian on there. Then 24 hours before the hockey competition begins on February 11th, there is a directorate meeting. Thats when the rosters become official, except theyre not quite official. In that space between the directorate meeting and two hours before the puck drops on February 12th – if somebody got injured on a game day skate – you technically have a very tiny window to go through and name somebody else but there are a lot of logistical issues with the Olympics being in Sochi. James Duthie: We have a change in our projected roster from Sunday. Price, Luongo, and Smith remain in goal. The defencemen remain the same except Dan Hamhuis comes on – remember head coach Mike Babcock has said from the beginning that hed prefer to have four left defencemen and four right defencemen – that desire pushes Hamhuis on and Dan Boyle off, who we had on Sunday. The forwards remain the same as well. Insider Trading: Canadas Olympic Team Projection Again, these are not all locks. Conversations are still going on with Team Canada brass involving forwards such as Eric Staal, Chris Kunitz, Milan Lucic, Patrick Marleau, Jeff Carter, and James Neal, and defencemen Mark Giordano, Marc Staal, Boyle, and Brent Seabrook; players that are still on the bubble. Mike Babcock has stressed speed for these Olympics. Is there any concern about speed with any of the players projected to make the roster? Pierre LeBrun: Its one to say it and for Team Canada it now has to be put into action. Canada looked like fish out of water in Torino and theyre trying to not repeat that in Sochi. The world juniors really brought that home for Team Canada – they have to have speed as a tiebreaker; guys who can skate on a larger, international ice. We know some of the locks – Ryan Getzlaf, Corey Perry, and Patrice Bergeron – arent great standards and by this standard are kind of slow so they dont want to add more guys that are average skaters on the roster. When you talk about bubble guys like Matt Duchene or Claude Giroux, those guys are in because they can skate on the bigger ice. There are a handful of players who will make major headlines whether they are on Team Canada or left off it; fascinating additions or glaring omissions. Lets run down the five most intriguing characters. McKenzie: Top of the list by a large margin over everybody else is PK Subban. With all due respect to our American friends, the Bobby Ryan and Keith Yandle controversy: a garden party to what it would be if the eight defencemen for Canada are announced and Subban, the reigning Norris Trophy winner – is left off. Over the course of this season, has there been any one moment where any network when theyre talking about what they believe Hockey Canada will do, have they had Subban in the Top Six? The answer is no. Weve never really gotten that strong sense that hes right in the mix, theres always been somebody ahead of him on the right side. Were projecting hes going to be here in the Top Eight but if any of us were to sit here and say hes an absolute, 100 percent lock, I dont think we could. Another intriguing name is Martin St. Louis given that Yzerman is his GM in Tampa Bay. LeBrun: That would be one tough phone call from Yzerman to St. Louis and you remember when Yzerman was made GM in Tampa after Vancouver 2010, that was kind of an awkward meeting between the two. St. Louis has actually strengthened his case by his play without Stamkos this season. Hes continued to be a productive player. On the big ice in Sochi, St. Louis has a spot on this team and I think in many ways, if the stars align, Yzerman owes this to St. Louis. But he has to have earned it and I think he has. Maybe the most debated player over the past couple months is Kunitz. Dreger: And hell continue to fight for a spot. His numbers speak for themselves: hes second, or at least tied for second among the Canadian goal scorers with his linemate and captain Sidney Crosby. As good as his stats are, hes still being viewed as a longshot. On numbers alone hes made a strong case, the chemistry with Crosby is obvious, but I dont think its going to be enough. And another perhaps surprise would be Marleau of the San Jose Sharks. Yes, he has the experience the coaches love, he has the speed thats going to be good on the big ice but I dont think its going to be enough. How about another Patrick in Patrick Sharp? LeBrun: I would argue that no other Canadian forward over the last year has made his case stronger than Sharp. His play in the playoffs for the reigning Stanley Cup champion Chicago Blackhawks was amazing; he should have been among the three or four names among the Conn Smythe Trophy voting. His play this season in the first three months has been absolutely magical on both sides of the puck. Hes versatile – he can play all three forward positions – which is important in a tournament where you have to juggle lines because of injuries. There has to be a place on this team for Sharp. I know you cant take everyone, but this guy just fits in so well. Did James Neal get forgotten in this selection process? Dreger: He has been. Weve virtually not talked at all about Neal yet he is first in goals per game next to Stamkos. His numbers offensively are very impressive; there are some concerns with his game away from the puck, but hell be part of the conversation before the final decision on Tuesday. The same applies to Milan Lucic of the Boston Bruins; a fierce competitor, but is that going to be enough to sway them? Nike Air Max 1 . - Vince Carter, heading into his 17th NBA season, doesnt consider age a big issue anymore. Cheap Nike Air Max 1 . About every six months, the left one would get locked up. It just happened twice in the last week aand swelled up and has been painful," said Helwani on UFC Tonight. Nike Air Max 1 2022. "I told him, Ive been there, its not fun - Its hard," Cooke told TSN Hockey Insider Pierre LeBrun on ESPN.com. "I laid it out there that if he wants to know what I did, Id gladly talk to him about it. He knows Pommer (former Sabre-turned-Wild forward Jason Pominville), so I told him `If you want to get hold of me, Im there to talk." Cooke, whos had his share of league discipline over a 15-year career, came back a changed player with the Pittsburgh Penguins after being suspended for the last 10 regular-season games and first round of the playoffs in 2010-11. And his advice for Kaleta is to try to do the same thing. "During my suspension, with either (Dan) Bylsma or (Tony) Granato, I probably watched about 30 or 40 hours of video; watching players that play a physical style," said Cooke. "The hours of video work I did seriously helped me," he added. "The work that I put in has helped me not only take the risky plays out but also become a more effective player. Ive got a way more active stick on the forecheck, and Im more aware of my surroundings which has helped me offensively." Kaleta was handed a 10-game suspension on Tuesday for an illegal check to the head of Columbus Blue Jacketss defenceman Jack Jackson, a decision that he, his agent and the NHL Players Association will appeal. Vapormax 2019 Black. Part of changing his game included dealing with adversity, as Cooke recalled an incident in the 2010-11 season when a player dove into the boards after he barely touched him. "My heart was racing," Cooke told LeBrun. "I thought I was getting suspended. But before I was even off the ice Brendan (Shanahan) had called (Penguins GM) Ray Shero to tell him he knew I didnt touch the guy. That re-assured me." And by Cookes own admission, hes still learning. "Its never going to be over for me, and I realize that, and Im fine with that," he said. "Right now I err on the side of caution. I still watch video to make re-assure that there are good times to go out and by physical. "Its just a read. If you dont change the way you visually see the game, then change is impossible." Case in point - Cooke leads the Wild in scoring with three goals and six points in seven games and has yet to pick up a penalty minute this season. "Theres a huge difference in the way I approach the game now," he explained. "The days of just going for the big hit, every time possible, is just not feasible. The way the game is played now, the speed of the game, and the way the kids are taught to play the game." Files from ESPN.com by TSN Hockey Insider Pierre LeBrun were used for this report.  ' ' '
