PITTSBURGH (AP) The Pittsburgh Steelers will have new faces in the secondary against Tennessee.

Cornerback Joe Haden is out indefinitely with a fractured left leg. The team made safety Mike Mitchell inactive when his ankle didn’t heal in time to face the Titans. Coty Sensabaugh will start in place of Haden. Rob Golden will fill in for Mitchell. The Steelers have the second-ranked pass defense in the NFL.

Tight end Vance McDonald Packers J'Mon Moore Jersey , who scored his first touchdown of the season last week against Indianapolis, is also inactive. James Harrison is inactive for a second straight week due to a back injury.

Quarterback Josh Dobbs and offensive linemen Jerald Hawkins and Matt Feiler are also inactive for the Steelers.

When Pro Football Hall of Fame voters meet the day before the Super Bowl to choose the Class of 2018 Wholesale Marcus Davenport Jersey , the decision to select Terrell Owens should take less time than it does to microwave a bag of popcorn.

T.O. belongs in Canton. It’s a no-brainer.

Owens is second to Jerry Rice in all-time receiving yards and third in touchdown catches behind Rice and Randy Moss, a finalist in his first year of eligibility.

Article continues below ...

No. 81 was a five-time All-Pro, six-time Pro Bowl pick and of the most entertaining players of his generation.

Owens deserved first-ballot induction. Case closed. Yet Orlando Brown Jr. Super Bowl LI Jersey , he’s been snubbed twice because voters are punishing him for his off-field and locker room ”antics” during a sensational 15-year career.

But there is no ”character clause” for the Pro Football Hall of Fame – and that’s not saying Owens should fail it.

Owens was never arrested nor suspended by the NFL. He didn’t have legal issues or drug problems.

Still, he’s been kept out because of questionable behavior and the perception he was a malcontent.

Sure, Owens often spoke his mind and sometimes got under the skin of teammates and coaches. He threw some of his quarterbacks – Jeff Garcia Kerryon Johnson Jersey Elite , Donovan McNabb and Tony Romo – under a rapidly moving bus. He also defended Romo from criticism and famously cried once while doing it.

Owens should be judged for his value on the field. He made every one of the five teams he played for better. He wasn’t the perfect teammate and he was disruptive at times, but when he stepped on the field, he was exceptional and durable.

Owens only missed 12 games in his long career Cheap Josh Sweat Jersey , plus the nine he didn’t play in 2005 after Andy Reid kicked him off the Philadelphia Eagles following a nasty feud with McNabb and a dispute with management over a new contract.

That came only several months after Owens helped McNabb have his best season, then heroically returned from ankle surgery – against doctor’s orders – to play in the Super Bowl. Owens would’ve been MVP of that game against the New England Patriots if McNabb didn’t throw three interceptions in the 24-21 loss.

Anyone who covered the T.O. circus in Philadelphia and the aftermath knows Owens wasn’t solely to blame for the way things went down. McNabb was overly sensitive and didn’t like all the attention Owens received. McNabb was booed by Eagles fans at the 1999 draft and he never forgot it. The same fans embraced Owens from the second he arrived in Philadelphia after eight seasons in San Francisco. More than 20,000 people went to see his first practice of 2004 training camp at Lehigh University. That led to jealousy issues with McNabb that final escalated a year later.

After things got ugly in Philly Avonte Maddox Super Bowl LI Jersey , the locker room was divided between McNabb supporters and Owens supporters. If the mess was entirely Owens’ fault, some of the well-respected veterans who sided with him wouldn’t have done so.

But it was easier for Reid to dismiss a 32-year-old receiver who wanted more money than a 28-year-old franchise quarterback who never ruffled any feathers.

Owens ended up in Dallas and had three excellent seasons with the Cowboys before he wore out his welcome. He played one year in Buffalo and one more in Cincinnati.

Those who argue that Owens bounced around the league because teams couldn’t wait to get rid of him should consider that Rice played for three clubs, and Hall of Fame receiver James Lofton also played for five. Lofton is on the 48-member selection committee and voted for Owens last year.

This really shouldn’t be a difficult decision. It certainly doesn’t compare to the steroid dilemma Major League Baseball Hall of Fame voters face each year.

Terrell Owens is one of the greatest players in the history of the sport and earned the right to receive a gold jacket.

When he finally puts one on DaeSean Hamilton Jersey Elite , getcha popcorn ready because it’ll be the most must-see induction speech ever.

Of utmost importance to the game of baseball is what the coaches bring to the game. Several coaches are responsible for managing and coordinating the plays such as hitting coaches http://www.clevelandbrownsteamonline.com/randall-telfer-jersey , bullpen coaches and of course first and third base coaches. Positioned near the first and third bases, these coaches direct and signal baseball players. They have a significant role to play in a team's success or failure in any given game.

Checking out and understanding the competition, is an important function of the base coach. While players are practicing and preparing for the game at hand, first and third base coaches, survey the territory, observing the opposing side, analyzing strengths and weaknesses http://www.baltimoreravensteamauthentic.com/hayden-hurst-jersey , tactics and moves, and bring their findings to the players attention. The first base coach is responsible for the base runners, from start until he leaves first base, then the third base coach takes on the responsibility until the runner scores on leaving third base.

Once the game is in play, the third and first base coach, must be alert at all times, using the knowledge garnered from their observations of the field Authentic Alex Cappa Jersey , the other team and his players, to make the right call and signal. In the heat of play, they have to be able to communicate their instructions in a clear and knowledgeable way ensuring each player understands the language or code, used. Use of proper communication, allows the runners to focus on the task at hand, base running, scores Authentic Johnny Gaudreau Jersey , and the upcoming base run.

Base coaches also assist the runners by empowering them to make aggressive, take risks, and help them move around the bases and score. But most important is their ability to make quick decisions. there is no time to think things through and get back to the runners. As much as they think they have covered all the bases, there is always the unexpected to deal with, such as pitches that are crazy and balls that are passed. Runners depend on the base coaches to make snap decisions, and pass these decisions unto them quickly, confidently and accurately.

Base runners depend on their coaches to make the call Adidas Dustin Brown Jersey , to keep them informed, to identify their strengths and weaknesses and coach them to be better players. This is an enormous responsibility for the base coaches who require special skills, superb knowledge of the game, excellent insight and a computer like brain. The game of baseball depends on these attributes.

Aaron Hernandez’s life was of another sort, an unfolding tragedy of ruin, surely one of the NFL’s darkest moments.

And days before Christmas, Dick Enberg died at his California home at 82. Enberg’s broadcasting career spanned six decades, his voice the steady, welcoming soundtrack for sports. Whether it was the Olympics or Super Bowl, the Final Four or Wimbledon, horse racing or his beloved baseball, Enberg was there. And always with his trademark exhortation http://www.seattleseahawksteamonline.com/dontae-johnson-jersey , ”Oh, my!”

”To me, Dick Enberg was the greatest all-around sportscaster who ever lived and will never be emulated,” famed Dodger broadcaster Vin Scully said.

Other lives, other deaths in 2017 left a large imprint.

Baseball lost Jim Bunning, a Hall of Famer who pitched a no-hitter and perfect game before going on to a U.S. Senate seat; two tough hombres in Don Baylor on the field and Dallas Green in the dugout; Boston Red Sox great Bobby Doerr at 99; Yankees front-office whiz Gene Michael; star center fielder Jimmy Piersall, whose psychiatric problems were chronicled in the movie ”Fear Strikes Out”; and Steve Palermo, whose umpiring ended in 1991 after he took a bullet in a parking lot.

Basketball said goodbye to two NCAA-winning coaches in Jud Heathcote of Michigan State and Rollie Massimino of Villanova; two NBA executives who presided over champions in Jerry Krause of Michael Jordan’s Bulls and Jack McCloskey of the ”Bad Boy” Pistons; and Gene Conley, a two-sport star who played for NBA and World Series champions.

Jake LaMotta, the brawling middleweight champ portrayed by Robert De Niro in the classic ”Raging Bull,” died at 95. Also gone at 94 was Lou Duva Wholesale Johnny Townsend Jersey , who handled 19 champions and seemed to be around boxing forever.

Tennis grieved for Pancho Segura, a champion of the 1940s and `50 who later coached Jimmy Connors; and Jana Novatna, the 1998 Wimbledon champ who five years earlier cried on the shoulder of the Duchess of Kent after losing the final.

Football is diminished without Dan Rooney, the Steelers chairman for whom the landmark minority hiring initiative is named; and Y.A. Tittle , the star 49ers and Giants quarterback whose 1964 photo of him bleeding and slumped on both knees came to embody the sport’s fierce combat. There was also Cortez Kennedy, the mighty Seahawks defensive tackle; Yale Lary, the safety/punter/return specialist for the best teams in Detroit Lions history; and Tommy Nobis, the middle linebacker and first player drafted by the Atlanta Falcons in 1966. The college game lost Frank Broyles, the powerful football coach and athletic director at Arkansas.

Golf said farewell to Roberto De Vicenzo, the Argentine whose incorrect scorecard may have cost him the 1968 Masters. Hockey is without Milt Schmidt, the center who led the Boston Bruins to two Stanley Cups Authentic Craig Kimbrel Jersey , and Johnny Bower, the goalie who led the Toronto Maple leafs to four Stanley Cups and played until 45.

American soccer executive Chuck Blazer died, his acknowledgement of corruption in the sport setting off a global scandal. Horse racing marked the deaths of Hall of Fame trainers LeRoy Jolley and Jack Van Berg as well as Penny Chenery, 95, the owner of 1973 Triple Crown winner Secretariat.

In auto racing, the voice at Indy of Jim Nabors was silenced. U.S. bobsled star Steven Holcomb was found dead at 37 in his room at an Olympic training center. And sports writing lost some grace with the death of Frank Deford, the Sports Illustrated essayist.

A handful of centenarians passed: John Kundla (101), the first coach in Lakers history; high school basketball coach Lewis D’Antoni (103), the father of Houston Rockets coach Mike D’Antoni; John Risher (107), a Virginia football player and stat crew member until this season; and Margaret Bergmann Lambert (103), a German-Jewish high jumper banned from Hitler’s 1936 Olympics.

ROY HALLADAY

He was doing what he loved Falcons Justin Bethel Jersey , exploring the skies. Then, less than 20 minutes after takeoff, his plane was down in the Gulf of Mexico and he was gone at age 40.

Halladay, the son of a corporate pilot, loved to fly. It was in his bones. And so was pitching.

He was an eight-time All-Star and a Cy Young winner in each league during his 12 seasons with Toronto and four with Philadelphia. He had a career record of 203-105. There was that riveting season in 2010 when he threw a perfect game in May and a no-hitter in the NL Division Series for the Phillies, only the second postseason no-hitter in major league history.

Halladay, a 6-foot-6 right-hander, was a throwback to another era. He didn’t care if his long innings shortened his career. Giving his fullest was what mattered.

Nationals ace Max Scherzer recalls a spring training day when Halladay was running outfield sprints after a game, soaked in sweat, pushing himself when no one was watching.

”That’s the Roy Halladay I always remember,” Scherzer says.

FLORHAM PARK Ed Dickson Super Bowl LI Jersey , N.J. (AP) The New York Jets have reached the point in their season where they might not be able to overcome another loss.

Sitting at 4-6 but still in the hunt for an AFC playoff spot, Todd Bowles’ bunch has little room to spare. So, when the coach was asked if he thought the Jets need to win all of their last six games to make the postseason, Bowles was, well, blunt.

”Excuse the language, but that’s probably a no-(expletive) statement Breeland Speaks Super Bowl LI Jersey ,” he said. ”We try to win every game.”

Article continues below ...

That has, of course, been the mantra all season. And, it’s one every NFL team follows.

But the Jets have the surging Carolina Panthers (7-3) up next on Sunday, followed by another home game next weekend against the suddenly struggling Kansas City Chiefs (6-4). New York ends its season with three of its last four games on the road, so taking care of home turf now is imperative for the Jets.

”Now, it’s hit or miss Authentic Jordan Whitehead Jersey ,” said linebacker Jordan Jenkins, who agreed with the coach’s assessment. ”There’s no `got to find a way.’ It has to happen. That’s the fact of the matter.”

The Jets’ situation appeared to take an ominous turn with a 15-10 loss at Tampa Bay on Nov. 12. But, they found themselves right in the mix again a week later while on their bye-week break when Buffalo (5-5), Miami (4-6) and Oakland (4-6) all lost.

They could easily find themselves in a deep hole, though, with another loss. So, New York has a playoff-like mentality – which Bowles insisted the Jets had as soon as the regular season kicked off.

”We were like that Week 1 Authentic Kalen Ballage Jersey ,” he said. ”It didn’t start now. We’re like that Week 1. We’re like that every week. We try to win every ballgame. Carolina is up next and that’s the ballgame we’re trying to win. We don’t look past the next game. So, we’re just looking at Carolina.”

Jenkins said the inconsistencies in the Jets’ season can be seen when the players watch film. There are the good moments, such as the three-game winning streak early in the season and the domination of Buffalo on Thursday Night Football in front of prime-time audience on Nov. 2.

And then, there are the embarrassing moments, including the blown leads in three straight losses to New England, Miami and Atlanta.

”We see where we can be if we just find a way to get it all to click together,” Jenkins said. ”It (stinks) when we watch past performances seeing us do well and then the other times we don’t do well.”

The Jets remain hopeful Authentic Orlando Brown Jr. Jersey , and surprisingly confident, that they can put a few more positives on film during this stretch run.

”As a team, we’re still together,” cornerback Morris Claiborne said. ”We know what’s going on right now. We know that we’re still in this thing. We’ve just got to take care of our business on Sunday and the weeks after that.”

NOTES: The Jets re-signed WR-KR Lucky Whitehead to the practice squad. Whitehead appeared likely to make the active roster out of training camp, but broke a foot in mid-August. He was waived/injured, placed on IR and then cut by the Jets in September. ”He’s just somebody we liked early on,” Bowles said. ”As he’s getting closer to getting healthy Chiefs Breeland Speaks Jersey , we wanted to make sure nobody else got him and we got a look at him. So, we signed him back.” Bowles said Whitehead is ”maybe a week or so” away from being completely healthy. … New York also signed TE Zach Conque to the practice squad, and released CB Michael Hunter and LB Jeremy Cash from the practice squad.

Three straight one-goal decisions in their first-ever playoff series have the Vegas Golden Knights in position of advancing to the second round.

A number the Golden Knights don’t want to consider is five as they look to eliminate the Los Angeles Kings on Tuesday night at Staples Center.

Only four NHL teams have squandered 3-0 leads in a best-of-seven playoff series: the 1942 Toronto Maple Leafs; the 1975 New York Islanders; the 2010 Philadelphia Flyers — and the Kings http://www.losangelesramsteamonline.com/joseph-noteboom-jersey , who defeated the San Jose Sharks in the opening round and eventually went on to defeat the New York Rangers for their second Stanley Cup.

That’s why Vegas defenseman Brayden McNabb is not ready to call this series over heading into Game 4.

“They’re a confident group, still. They believe in there, for sure,” he said of the Kings. “We can’t deviate from what we need to do.”

Los Angeles defenseman Drew Doughty is also sticking to the one-game-at-a-time mantra.

“We’ve done it before, but I don’t think we’re looking that far ahead,” he told the Kings’ official website. “Obviously we’ve got to win that series Ryan Switzer Jersey Elite , but we’re not looking at it in that sort of way. We’ve just got to win one game right now.”

Vegas is on the brink of sweeping after scoring three third-period goals en route to a 3-2 victory in Game 3 on Sunday night. Cody Eakin tied the score, 1-1, early in the frame before Neal and William Karlsson scored 21 seconds apart with just under six minutes to play.

Golden Knights coach Gerard Gallant credits a veteran core with deep playoff experience to keep the team on an even keel.

“A lot of these guys have been there before,” he said. “Deryk Engelland, James Neal, (Marc-Andre) Fleury Authentic Scooter Gennett Jersey , they talk to the players about being composed.”

According to the league’s official website, the Golden Knights are the third team to win their first three playoff games, joining the 1996 Florida Panthers and the Pittsburgh Penguins, who won four straight in 1970.

Unlike Vegas, the Panthers and Penguins did so in their third seasons. And, again http://www.miamidolphinsteamonline.com/kalen-ballage-jersey , Gallant’s laid-back demeanor comes through.

“My message all year long … we worry about the next game,” he said. “I don’t worry about what’s happened in the past. “

If Los Angeles is to extend the series, it needs contributions from their top players. The Kings have managed three goals in the series — one from center Anze Kopitar (career-high 35 regular-season goals) and none from wingers Dustin Brown (28 goals) and Tyler Toffoli (24).

Toffoli, who’s taken a team-high 14 shots in the series, knows what he must do.

“I had a lot of opportunities in front of the net and around the net, and I’ve just got to get pucks up and be able to find a way to score Authentic Deion Sanders Jersey ,” he said. “I’ve had plenty of opportunities to score. I’ve just got to be able to finish.”

In just about any other series, the Kings’ Jonathan Quick would be praised for his 1.69 goals-against average through three games. Fleury, though, has logged an 0.84 GAA.

“It’s going to be hard to finish this series out. Every game’s been really tight. It’s going to be a battle,” McNabb said.

What if they did not respect their country like these people are not respecting ours? Just think what they would do to them. I’m not saying we should do that to our people. … But they teach their people respect.”

Lewis was a registered Democrat all his life. He eats breakfast at the same diner every day Authentic Trent Brown Jersey , and one morning last year as the primaries drew near, he and a handful of others got up from their tables, marched down to the elections office, and asked to change their registrations. They wanted to vote for Trump, because he talked like them and promised to restore the values they hold dear.

Lewis thinks complaints of racism are overblown and Trump is being unfairly condemned, but he says he would be interested in hearing what the cheerleaders have to say because he figures they must have some reason for doing what they did. He might have listened, he adds, if they’d expressed their grievances in a different way – maybe by taking their problems to elected officials or to church Colts Braden Smith Jersey , maybe by kneeling in prayer and not defiance.

Almost three weeks after the protest on his field, South Robeson High School Principal Christopher Clark was still sorting through how he and his school had gotten so caught up in the tug-of-war over racial equality and nationalism.

”We’ve got a cultural battle going on for the heart and soul of America,” he says. ”We’ve heard, `We’re taking this country back.’ Well, where do you want to take it?”

He understands that to some, that might harken back to the wholesome world of Ozzie and Harriet. But that was also a time when Clark, a Native American, had to go to the pharmacy through the back door.

Clark’s school is in the poorest pocket of one of the poorest counties in North Carolina. The student body is almost entirely minority http://www.jacksonvillejaguarsteamonline.com/ronnie-harrison-jersey , split approximately evenly between African-Americans and Native Americans. Some of his students have never left the county. During a fieldtrip to Fayetteville, he discovered kids who’d never seen an escalator. When ”life is so different depending on where your zip code is,” he says, he doesn’t know how anyone can believe that inequality no longer exists, even if he’s not happy about how his cheerleaders chose to demonstrate against it.

A preacher’s son and a devout Christian, Clark would never have knelt had he been a kid on the field that night, and he wouldn’t have allowed his own children to, either. But he doesn’t believe he gets to make those choices for everybody else. Nor did the local school district. In the wake of the NFL protests Authentic Christian Kirk Jersey , the superintendent had sent out a memo reminding administrators of students’ constitutional right to protest, stating they could not be forced to stand during the anthem or punished for declining to.

Clark tried to explain all of this when the ugly messages arrived. ”You don’t have the guts to lead,” read one note from a friend. One after the other, the notes kept coming. Public outrage is not the rule of law, the principal tried to remind folks, but it seemed that many would rather it were.

”When we start down the road of `the other’ – the other is wrong, the other is un-American, the other Cheap Paul Worrilow Jersey , the other, the other – where will we stop?” he wonders. ”There will be a day when we look back on this and think: What in the world happened to us?”

And so on a Wednesday afternoon before the next home football game, Clark couldn’t help but worry that the cheerleaders practicing down the hall would choose to kneel again and start this heartache all over.

The girls had their own worries: that their message was lost amid the anger and condemnation.

At the first game after the protest, homecoming, they decided to stay in the locker room as the national anthem played.

Then they discussed again what to do at the next. Kneel, and relaunch their mini-culture war? Stay inside, and let it pass?

So they marched out onto the field that next Friday night.

They stood along the sidelines and just held hands, a sign of unity Authentic Luis Severino Jersey , they hoped, each one of them up on both feet.

No one booed. No one applauded them, either.

The girls turned around, picked up their pompoms and launched their first cheer.

”Go Mustangs!”

BBO–TIME TO TANK?

Rebuilding -or, to use the less euphemistic term, tanking- has become one of baseball’s most polarizing topics in 2018. When the Astros won the World Series last season Donte Jackson Super Bowl LI Jersey , four years removed from a 111-loss debacle, they became a shining example of how short-term pain can lead to long-term gain, but as other teams try to follow Houston’s lead, they’re being met with at least a little bit of skepticism. GLF–MASTERS

This Masters is as much about a red shirt as a green jacket. Tiger Woods is back at Augusta National for the first time since 2015, and he even looks so much like the Tiger Woods of old that he has been installed as a co-favorite. As much as golf has missed the excitement that Woods creates at tournaments, Woods has missed golf. ”I love playing Augusta National. There’s no other golf course like it in the world, and there’s no other golf tournament like it. It is literally … it’s a players’ heaven.” Ten months after he was arrested on a DUI charge for taking a bad mix of prescription medicine Authentic Josey Jewell Jersey , and six months after not even Woods was sure he would ever return to elite competition, the question has shifted from whether he could play in the Masters to whether he can win. GLF–MASTERS-SERGIO

Sergio Garcia, the Masters champion, never felt any different from the Sergio Garcia who spent nearly 20 years trying to make sure his career would not be defined as the guy who never could win a major. He says he didn’t changed as a person, and he was right. All the change took place before he won the Masters. By Golf Writer Doug Ferguson. UPCOMING: 800 words, photos by 4 a.m. Friday.

GLF–MASTERS-CHINESE FIR

It is the only hole at Augusta National that doesn’t have a bunker. No other hole on the back nine is shorter. Rory McIlroy watched the Masters every year when he was younger and didn’t see what was so difficult about the 440-yard 14th hole until he had to try it himself. ”There’s a 3-yard square you have to hit it,” he said. Sitting between the dynamic par 5s on the back nine, the hole called ”Chinese Fir” has played a key role over the years. By Golf Writer Doug Ferguson. UPCOMING: 700 words, photos by 3 a.m.

GLF–MASTERS-GOOD BEHAVIOR

PALM HARBOR, Fla. – Golf is getting younger, and the PGA Tour is going after its slice of the new generation to build a fan base. That has brought more energy, more volume and raucous behavior that has led to some high-profile players asking that fans be removed. Rory McIlroy suggested limiting alcohol sales. PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan says it’s a good problem to have. But it won’t be a problem at the Masters Authentic Su'a Cravens Jersey , where fans know they best mind their manners. HKN–ONE FOR 1,000

Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Brent Seabrook and Washington Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin are the latest of only about 60 NHL players to reach 1,000 games with a single franchise. But that number will grow significantly in the coming years as stars and core players choose to re-sign with their current teams long term because of the collective bargaining agreement and hockey’s lean toward security over movement. HKN–DEEP PREDATORS

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Nashville Predators are having their best season yet through a combination of savvy drafting, surprising trades and a handful of salary cap-friendly contract extensions. General manager David Poile’s crafty moves have the defending Western Conference champs on the verge of what could be a dominant run in the NHL. By Teresa M. Walker. PHILADELPHIA (AP) Sidney Crosby scored his fifth goal of the series and became the Pittsburgh Penguins‘ career postseason points leader in a 5-0 win over the Philadelphia Flyers on Wednesday night.

The Penguins lead the first-round playoff series 3-1 as its shifts to Pittsburgh for Game 5.

Matt Murray stopped 26 shots for his second shutout of the series and the two-time defending Stanley Cup champion Penguins are a win away from playing in the second round for the 11th time in the last 12 seasons.

Crosby scored in the second period for a 4-0 lead and passed Pittsburgh owner and Hall of Famer Mario Lemieux for most playoff points with 173. Crosby and the Penguins followed a 7-0 Game 1 win and a 5-1 Game 3 victory with another dominant outing.

Evgeni Malkin Authentic Reggie Jackson Jersey , Phil Kessel and Kris Letang each scored to give the Penguins a 3-0 lead in the second and chase Flyers goalie Brian Elliott. Riley Sheahan made it 5-0 late in the third.

SHARKS 2, DUCKS 1

SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) – Tomas Hertl scored the tiebreaking goal 9:09 into the third period Troy Niklas Jersey Elite , Martin Jones was spectacular in goal yet again, and San Jose Sharks completed a first-round sweep.

Hertl scored just 1:16 after the Ducks finally got a puck past Jones when he deflected a point shot from Marc-Edouard Vlasic past John Gibson. San Jose then held on to advance to the second round against the expansion Vegas Golden Knights.

Fourth-line winger Marcus Sorensen scored for the third straight game to open the scoring for San Jose and Jones did most of the rest of the work with 30 saves.

Andrew Cogliano scored the lone goal for the Ducks, who were outscored 16-4 in the series and swept for the first time since 1999 against Detroit. Gibson finished with 22 saves.

LIGHTNING 3 Authentic Deadrin Senat Jersey , DEVILS 1

NEWARK, N.J. (AP) – Nikita Kucherov scored two goals, set up another and knocked New Jersey’s top defenseman out of the game with a big hit Authentic Fergie Jenkins Jersey , and the Tampa Bay Lightning moved within a game of making the Devils‘ first trip to the playoffs in six years a short one.

J.T. Miller also scored and had two assists, and Vezina Trophy finalist Andrei Vasilevskiy stopped three breakaways in making 27 saves as the Lightning bounced back from a loss in Game 3 to tale a 3-1 lead in the first-round series.

Tampa Bay can wrap up the best-of-seven series in Game 5 at home on Saturday.

Kyle Palmieri scored on a 5-on-3 advantage for the Devils. Cory Schneider made 34 saves.

New Jersey’s Sami Vatanen was knocked out of the game on the hit by Kucherov late in the first. No penalty was called but Kucherov appeared to jump before hitting Vatanen in the shoulder and head area.

PREDATORS 3, AVALANCHE 2

DENVER (AP) – Filip Forsberg scored another creative goal Authentic Cordy Glenn Jersey , Pekka Rinne rebounded from a rocky performance with 31 saves, and Nashville withstood a furious rally by Colorado to take a 3-1 lead in the first-round series.

Colton Sissons and Craig Smith also added goals for the Predators, who can close out the best-of-seven series Friday when it shifts back to Nashville for Game 5.

Rinne was solid early after being pulled from the last game. Cruising along and up 3-0 Roquan Smith Jersey Elite , the Vezina Trophy finalist allowed Gabriel Landeskog’s 5-on-3 power-play goal in the third and another on Alexander Kerfoot’s tap-in off a rebound.

Colin Wilson nearly tied with about 2 minutes left when his shot appeared to hit the post. The Avalanche pulled backup goalie Andrew Hammond late, but couldn’t get the tying goal.

SANTA CLARA Authentic Minkah Fitzpatrick Jersey , Calif. (AP) When the 49ers take the field Sunday against the Giants, they could have three defensive rookies starting who began the season as backups.

That’s just the way their 0-9 season has gone.

The youth movement in Kyle Shanahan’s first season as coach began on offense, with rookie C.J. Beathard taking over under center from Brian Hoyer.

Article continues below ...

That theme is continuing on the other side of the ball, starting with No. 3 pick Solomon Thomas at defensive end Dolphins Daniel Kilgore Jersey , cornerback Ahkello Witherspoon and safety Adrian Colbert.

Along with promising linebacker Reuben Foster, who’s expected to make his fourth career start, the rookie quartet will be given an opportunity to develop together as the rebuilding project unfolds in the second half.

”You can never be afraid to play a young guy. Ever,” defensive coordinator Robert Saleh said. ”Will you have lumps with them learning along the way? I do believe so.”

Those lumps have led to the longest losing streak to begin a season in franchise history. But it’s been clear since the spring that this season was going to be about building for the future http://www.washingtonredskinsteamonline.com/derrius-guice-jersey , which means allowing young players to find their footing with extensive playing time.

”How can you get that young guy to play like a veteran? He has to play,” Saleh said. ”The more they play, the quicker as a staff we can get those guys to play like veterans while they’re youthful. With all that speed and juice that they just got out of college, that’s how you get those fast Authentic Ian Thomas Jersey , explosive defenses that you’ve seen in this scheme.”

Thomas returned to practice this week after sustaining a knee injury Oct. 29 in Philadelphia. He’s taken over the starting job with veterans Tank Carradine and Arik Armstead on injured reserve. Witherspoon, a third-round pick, was made a full-time starter when Rashard Robinson was traded at the deadline to the New York Jets.

Colbert, a seventh-round pick Wholesale Calvin Ridley Jersey , will be the team’s third starting free safety this season. Both previous starters, Jimmie Ward and Jaquiski Tartt, are done for the season after they both fractured forearms in consecutive games.

Witherspoon appreciates the chance to grow with his fellow rookies.

”There’s definitely some connection out there with them,” Witherspoon said. ”It’s something we want to build on for now and as well as the future. We believe we can be contributors for this organization. So we just want to keep bonding with another Authentic Kenta Maeda Jersey , keep getting better with one another.”

NOTES: Running back Carlos Hyde was fined by the NFL for his role in a fight that broke out against the Cardinals on Sunday that led to his ejection. Hyde took exception to a hit on Beathard as he slid during a scramble. General manager John Lynch gave Hyde a high-five on the sideline as he headed to the locker room after the altercation with Arizona lineman Frostee Rucker. ”I think he was just more hyped about me sticking up for my quarterback, sticking up for my teammates,” Hyde said.
