PHILADELPHIA (AP) Suddenly short-handed Vinny Curry Jersey Elite , the Philadelphia Flyers aren’t going to let a few injuries stop them.

Jakub Voracek scored the tying goal with 1:25 left in regulation and then got the game-winner 1:26 into overtime to lift the Flyers to a 3-2 victory over the Montreal Canadiens on Tuesday night.

Voracek also had an assist and Nolan Patrick had the other goal for Philadelphia, which improved to 7-0-2 in its last nine games. The Flyers, third in the Metropolitan Division, pulled two points behind second-place Pittsburgh and three behind first-place Washington.

”That’s a nice way to get two points,” Philadelphia coach Dave Hakstol said.

It’s even better, perhaps Wholesale Derrick Nnadi Jersey , considering the state of the Flyers.

The Flyers were without forward Wayne Simmonds, who will be out for 2-to-3 weeks after suffering an upper-body injury in Sunday’s win over the New York Rangers.

Simmonds joins a growing list of injured Flyers. Starting goalie Brian Elliott had surgery Feb. 13 for a core muscle injury and is expected to miss up to five more weeks. Backup Michal Neuvirth, who was elevated to No. 1 last Tuesday after Elliott’s injury, will be sidelined 4-to-6 weeks after suffering a lower body injury in Sunday’s game.

”You just have to dig in,” Voracek said. ”We have to find a way to win games. We’ve got to keep finding a way.”

Philadelphia acquired goalie Petr Mrazek from Detroit on Monday night for a pair of draft picks to fill the void. Mrazek backed up Alex Lyon on Tuesday. Lyon, appearing in his fifth career game Authentic Chad Thomas Jersey , made 25 saves for his second victory.

”He took care of business and was a big part of us winning a hockey game,” Hakstol said of Lyon. ”We’re going to need contributions from everybody in our lineup.”

Oskar Lindblom replaced Simmonds, who has 20 goals and 37 points, and didn’t register a point in his NHL debut.

”Those are big shoes to fill, but I don’t think anybody spends too much time thinking about the injuries or who’s out of the lineup,” Hakstol said.

Paul Byron and Jeff Petry scored for Montreal Robert Golden Super Bowl LI Jersey , which lost its sixth straight. The Canadiens’ NHL-worst road record fell to 8-19-2.

With Lyon pulled for an extra attacker, Voracek sent the game to overtime with a slap shot from the point that deflected off Montreal’s Max Pacioretty and through goalie Carey Price’s five-hole.

”It’s not ideal, that’s for sure,” Price said of giving up the late tying goal. ”Pretty good game up to that point. That pretty much sums it up, really.”

Voracek netted the game-winner when he skated to the slot and fired a wrist shot past Price’s glove side.

”We would have liked to prove something on the road, but we weren’t able to Russell Bodine Jersey Elite ,” Pacioretty said. ”We were close tonight and it goes off my stick and goes in for the tie, so it’s tough.”

Price played in his 552nd game for the Canadiens to move past Patrick Roy for second all-time in games played among Montreal goalies. Jacques Plante tops the list with 556.

Byron scored his 14th of the season after a pretty assist from Tomas Plekanec with 11:15 left in the third period to put Montreal up 2-1.

Petry opened the scoring with 2:13 left in the first period when he deflected Karl Alzner’s shot from the point past Lyon.

The Flyers tied it on the power play 7:18 into the second period when Patrick, replacing Simmonds on Philadelphia’s top extra-man unit, one-timed Claude Giroux’s pass from the slot past Price’s glove side.

NOTES: Montreal C Phillip Danault returned for the first time since suffering a concussion on Jan. 13. … The teams wrap up their season series Feb. 26 at Montreal. … LW Nicolas Deslauriers, who signed a two-year contract extension on Monday, won a one-sided fight with Brandon Manning in the second period. … The Flyers have not played short-handed in three straight games Adidas Jonathan Quick Jersey , becoming the first team to do so since the league started keeping power-play and penalty-kill stats in the 1977-78 season. … Flyers C Travis Konecny struggled to get through the game after blocking a shot with his skate with 5:02 left in the first period.

WASHINGTON (AP) The Oakland Raiders decided to move to Las Vegas largely because Clark County Michael Gallup Super Bowl LI Jersey , Nevada, agreed to finance a new stadium with $750 million in tax-exempt bonds. Now, that tax exemption could be going away, leaving the county on the hook for even more money.

The GOP tax reform bill released last week would bar state and local governments from issuing tax-exempt bonds for stadium construction, a common feature of stadium deals over the past two decades. It’s one of a few reforms in the bill that would affect the world of sports.

Getting rid of stadium subsidies has long been a popular talking point in Washington, and it’s not a partisan issue, either. Former president Barack Obama’s 2015 budget sought to do away with the tax exemption for stadium bonds. President Donald Trump asked in a tweet last month why the NFL was getting ”massive tax breaks” amid the controversy over players kneeling during the national anthem.

Article continues below ...

”Change tax law!” Trump tweeted. And Congress apparently listened.

”It’s good policy,” said Ted Gayer, a senior fellow at the Brookings Institution and the lead author of a study on stadium subsidies. ”It’s always been kind of a no-brainer politically and Authentic Ronnie Harrison Jersey , I think, economically.”

The Brookings study, released last year, found that the federal government subsidized stadium construction to the tune of $3.2 billion since 2000. During that stretch, 36 stadiums were built or renovated in part with tax-exempt bonds. The Raiders’ stadium would get a $120 million tax break if the law isn’t changed, according to the Brookings analysis.

Sen. James Lankford, an Oklahoma Republican, and Sen. Cory Booker, a New Jersey Democrat Authentic Randy Johnson Jersey , cited those figures when they introduced a bill earlier this year to end the subsidies. Rep. Steve Russell, an Oklahoma Republican, introduced a similar bill in the House.

”Using billions of taxpayer dollars for the subsidization of private stadiums when we have real infrastructure needs in our country is not a good way to prioritize a limited amount of funds,” Lankford said. ”Tax reform could be a unique opportunity to enact this into law. I’m pleased this idea is gaining momentum.”

The NFL argues that communities benefit from stadiums because they create jobs and spur economic development, but many economists say cities never recoup their investments and that the financing deals amount to handouts for wealthy team owners. A new stadium can cause the value of a professional franchise to skyrocket.

”We’ve always believed the construction of new stadiums and renovations of existing stadiums are economic drivers in local communities,” NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy said. ”If the idea is to promote economic growth, this would be a step backwards.”

Getting rid of the tax exemption would have a negligible impact on federal revenue, bringing in $200 million over 10 years, according to the bill.

Rep. Dina Titus Jeremiah Attaochu Super Bowl LI Jersey , a Nevada Democrat and a proponent of the stadium deal, said the bill would harm her district, which includes Las Vegas.

”Eliminating the tax exemption for stadiums could cost Clark County more money to build projects that are already underway,” Titus said in a statement. ”This is an attack on local governments that will take money away from our communities and hamper infrastructure nationwide.”

The elimination of a tool that NFL owners use to defer the costs of new stadiums could be seen as an irony given many owners’ support for Trump, who is pinning his hopes on the tax-reform package as he seeks a major legislative accomplishment. Redskins owner Dan Snyder was one of several owners who donated $1 million to Trump’s inaugural committee, and he’s looking for a site to build a new stadium. A Redskins spokesman did not respond to requests for comment.

Even if the bill becomes law, teams will still find ways to build stadiums with public money, Gayer said.

”The overwhelming amount of the subsidy comes at the local level, not at the federal level Hayden Hurst Jersey Elite ,” he said. ”What’s driving that is, if you’re Las Vegas and you want a team, you can’t just create a football team. You have to entice a team. There’s a fixed supply … and that creates these bidding wars.”

IMPACT ON COLLEGES

The bill would also get rid of a tax deduction that many universities use to entice donors to buy season tickets, and it would levy a new 20 percent tax on salaries of public university employees who make more than $1 million – many of whom are football and basketball coaches.

Many schools require donors to give thousands of dollars to a booster fund in exchange for the right to purchase tickets. Eighty percent of the amount donated is tax-deductible, and the schools tout the tax benefits as an enticement to give.

Getting rid of the deduction will harm athletic departments that use the contributions to fund sports that don’t generate revenue, said Liz Clark, director of federal affairs at the National Association of College and University Business Officers.

”We do know that for some athletic programs, that this can be a critical source of revenue,” Clark said. ”Eliminating this deduction will hurt the revenue stream and will make it harder for those programs to meet expenses.”

Duke University Ronald Jones II Jersey Elite , for example, requires donations of at least $4,000 per seat for the right to buy coveted men’s basketball season tickets at Cameron Indoor Stadium. NEW YORK (AP) The Rangers have been waiting all season for Rick Nash to score in bunches. A fresh line combination may be doing the trick.

Nash scored twice for the second straight game and new linemate Pavel Buchnevich scored the winner late in the third period as the Rangers edged the conference-worst Buffalo Sabres 4-3 on Thursday night.

Buchnevich scored the go-ahead goal at 16:02 after the Sabres had tied the game for the third time on a power-play goal by defenseman Rasmus Ristolainen at 14:59 of the third. Nash Authentic Kurt Suzuki Jersey , who opened the scoring early in the first and put the Rangers ahead 3-2 at 6:49 of the third, has 13 goals this season. He also scored twice in a 5-1 win over Philadelphia on Tuesday.

Article continues below ...

”Sometimes you get five or six opportunities a night and don’t score. Other times, you get two chances and put them both in,” Nash said. ”You’ve got to stay level-headed and stay with it.”

Henrik Lundqvist made 34 saves for the Rangers, who won their second straight after three consecutive losses.

”In the end Kenny Young Jersey Elite , we had some guys playing big minutes come up with big goals,” said Lundqvist, referring to the new combination of Nash with Buchnevich and center Mika Zibanejad. ”They move the puck really well and their timing is there right now.”

Buchnevich’s goal was his 12th of the season. He also had assists on both goals by Nash.

”It’s important if your line scores,” the soft-spoken Buchnevich said. ”You feel better.”

The Rangers (24-17-5) have won 11 of their last 14 games against Buffalo, which fell to an Eastern Conference-worst 11-25-9. The Rangers currently hold one of two wild-card spots in the Eastern Conference playoff race. The Sabres continue to struggle with only one win in seven games this month.

”It’s really disappointing because our power-play was sharp Josh Rosen Jersey Elite ,” Sabres coach Phil Housley said. ”We were anxious and eager to do something big. It’s just unfortunate because all of our work goes for nothing.”

Buffalo defenseman Justin Falk had tied it with his first goal of the season when his long slot eluded Lundqvist at 17:10 of the second.

Falk’s shot from the point slid through just as Rangers defenseman Brady Skjei and Sabres forward Sam Reinhart skated in front of Lundqvist and seemed to hamper his view. Falk’s previous goal came 100 games ago in March 2015, when he was playing for Columbus.

J.T. Miller, who scored the overtime winner when the Rangers beat the Sabres 3-2 in the Winter Classic at Citi Field on Jan. 1, scored midway through the second to give the Rangers a 2-1 lead. Miller’s 10th goal came on the power-play at 8:26 of the second when he rifled the puck past Lehner. David Desharnais assisted.

Lundqvist has dominated the Sabres in recent seasons with an 8-2-0 record since Oct. 31, 2013. He improved to 21-11-4 on the season.

”We said we needed this one. When we play on top of our game Wholesale Trent Brown Jersey , we’re a really good team,” Lundqvist added. ”I like the combinations right now. The lines are working hard and making smart plays.”

Nash opened the scoring at 1:24 of the first on a breakaway, beating Lehner high to the glove side. Nash has points in nine of last 14 games against the Sabres with 11 goals and five assists overall. Nash hadn’t scored in 12 games before his two-goal against the Flyers on Tuesday.

The 33-year-old right wing, who has 429 career goals, could become an unrestricted free agent in July after his current eight-year contract expires. He has been with the Rangers since July 2012 when he was acquired from Columbus.

Sabres forward Kyle Okposo knotted the score at 1 with his eighth goal at 18:41 of the first. He slid a rebound past Lundqvist DJ Moore Super Bowl LI Jersey , with assists to Reinhart and Jack Eichel, who has 19 points in his last 13 games.

Only 13 of the Rangers’ 36 remaining games are at home. They are 17-8-3 at home, but just 7-9-2 away from Madison Square Garden. They start a four-game trip at Colorado on Saturday followed by contests at Los Angeles, Anaheim and San Jose before the All-Star break.

”We have a tough road trip ahead,” Lundqvist said. ”We look forward to that test.”

NOTES: Four of the last five meetings between the Rangers and Sabres have been decided by one goal. … The Rangers have won 15 of last 26 games against the Sabres with a 15-8-3 mark overall. … The teams meet again on March 24 at Madison Square Garden. … The Rangers were without defenseman Marc Staal because of a hip flexor. They were also without injured forward Kevin Hayes for the third straight game. … The Sabres scratched defensemen Nathan Beaulieu and Victor Antipin.

NEW ORLEANS (AP) Saints punter Thomas Morstead figured he had a good command of his value after nine NFL seasons Wholesale Logan Paulsen Jersey , and he had no interest in playing or living anywhere but New Orleans.

Morstead said Friday that he has signed a new five-year, $20 million contract with the Saints.

He told The Associated Press that his new contract begins in the current league year, replacing the final year of his previous contract that was due to expire after next season. The deal guarantees $9 million over the first two seasons and includes the possibility for additional bonuses, Morstead said.

Article continues below ...

The 32-year-old Morstead served as his own agent on what is his third NFL contract since being drafted in 2009 and helping New Orleans capture its only Super Bowl championship as a rookie.

The Saints ”approached me about doing (a new contract) and we love living in New Orleans,” said Morstead Authentic Mike Gesicki Jersey , who is raising a family in the city. ”They extended me early after my third year and they extended me again after my ninth. And I didn’t have any feeling in my body that the grass is greener elsewhere. We love New Orleans. We love our neighbors. I love playing for (Saints coach) Sean (Payton). There’s a tremendous amount of stability and we were thrilled at the chance to stick around.”

Morstead has averaged 47 yards per punt during his career. That ranks third all-time in the NFL, less than a yard behind the averages of the two players ahead of him, Shane Lechler and Johnny Hekker.

Last season, Patriots coach Bill Belichick raved about Morstead before facing the Saints in Week 2, saying the only way to prepare for the Saints punter is to ”take the JUGS machine Wholesale Nyheim Hines Jersey , crank it up on high and shoot the ball about 65 to 70 yards downfield, a yard from the sideline like he does most of the time. … There are not many guys who can punt the ball like him.”

Morstead said he made the goal of striving for elite consistency ever since retired quarterback Peyton Manning spoke to the Saints during training camp and urged players to think about how they want to be remembered.

”I started kind of outlining qualitative goals about what people would say about me,” Morstead said. ”There’s a lot of value in having a specialist that there’s not a lot of ups and downs with.”

”It’s not just about hitting bombs, hitting high punts,” Morstead added. ”It’s good distance with good hang time in a corner that pins guy with quick get-off. I’m really proud of the standards that we’ve set.”

Morstead also has enjoyed a surge in popularity in Minnesota – if not nationally – since he volunteered to return to the field from the locker room Authentic Francisco Lindor Jersey , despite having injured his ribs, so Minnesota could formally complete its dramatic, last-second playoff victory over the Saints by running a required point-after attempt. Morstead was the first Saints player out of the locker room. The Vikings took a knee, not needing to score on the play.

Afterward, Morstead noticed a surge of donations from Minnesota to his What You Give Will Grow foundation Troy Niklas Jersey Elite , which benefits children undergoing hospital treatment for serious illnesses. Morstead returned to Minneapolis during the Super Bowl to present a check for a little more than $221,000 to Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota. He also donated $120,000 to similar efforts in Louisiana.

Morstead’s deal is one of a handful of moves by New Orleans since the beginning of free agency on Wednesday. Those include the signings of cornerback Patrick Robinson to what his agent, Ron Butler, said was a four-year Mark Andrews Jersey Elite , $20 million deal; linebacker Demario Davis to a reported three-year, $24 million contract; and defensive end Alex Okafor to a two-year extension for a reported $10 million.

The Saints have also added veteran quarterback Tom Savage as a potential backup to Drew Brees, who signed a two-year, $50 million extension the day before free agency started.

Going back in time to examine the Denver Broncos 2010 NFL Draft class to see which players developed into tremendous assets and which became busts.

The Denver Broncos had one of the most exciting drafts in recent history in 2010 with two first-round selections along with nine total draft picks. They also managed to make some big splashes by drafting Demaryius Thomas, Tim Tebow and Eric Decker.

Denver finished the 2009 season with an 8-8 record, while ranking 13th in the league in passing with 3,627 yards passing and ranking 18th in the league in rushing with 1,836 yards rushing. Their best win came during week five when they defeated a 3-2 Patriots team 20-17 in overtime.

The team had a lot of holes to patch up on both sides of the ball. Kyle Orton was the team’s starting quarter back and starting wide receiver Brandon Marshall was traded to the Miami Dolphins for a 2010 second-round draft pick and a 2011 second-round draft pick.

Related Story: Broncos: Should They Take McCaffrey In 2017 Draft?

Things wasn’t much better on the defensive side of the ball. The secondary was aging with Brian Dawkins leading the secondary with 95 tackles. Cornerback Champ Bailey was also entering the finally stages of his career. Elvis Dumervil anchored the defense with 17 sacks but the rest of the pass rushing unit consisted of an over-the-hill Vonnie Holliday (age 34) and an inconsistent Darrell Reid.

The 2010 draft class was vital to the team’s resurgence and took part in leading the team to a Super Bowl victory in 2016. An argument can be made that without some of the talent in this draft class Keke Coutee Super Bowl LI Jersey , the Denver Broncos would not have made multiple playoff runs nor won a Super Bowl. With that in mind, let’s examine every pick from the 2010 class and see how each player panned out.

Next: Round 1: Demaryius Thomas

Denver made a trade with the New England Patriots, sending their first round pick (No. 24 overall) and fourth-round pick in order to move up to the 22nd spot in the draft to select Demaryius Thomas, wide receiver from Georgia Tech.

Thomas caught 46 receptions for 1,154 yards and eight touchdowns during his junior season while owning an remarkable 98.29 percent market share of the team’s passing production. As a team, Georgia Tech only managed to pass for 1,774 yards for the entire season Authentic Matt Garza Jersey , mostly due to their run-first offense.

At 6-3 and 224 pounds, Thomas had the optimal size for a clear-cut No. 1 receiver at NFL level. His size combined with his 4.41-second 40-yard dash makes him a miss-match for both cornerbacks and linebackers.

His athleticism translated to the NFL level as he was productive during most of his career. One of the biggest plays of his career came in the 2012 playoffs in the wild card game against the Pittsburgh Steelers when he caught an 80-yard game touchdown reception from quarterback Tim Tebow to win the game in overtime.

This pick worked out for the Broncos, considering that Thomas has caught 546 receptions for 7,704 yards and 52 touchdowns over the course of his career. He has caught over 1,000 yards in every season in the last five years while accumulating four Pro Bowl appearances during that time period.

DETROIT (AP) Out of the playoffs and sinking fast with one win in 14 games a week ago Authentic Kareem Martin Jersey , the Detroit Red Wings could have embraced tanking to bolster their chances in the NHL draft lottery.

Instead, they launched a winning streak.

Jimmy Howard stopped 31 shots for his first shutout of the season as the Red Wings beat the Ottawa Senators 2-0 on Saturday for their third straight win.

Article continues below ...

Dylan Larkin and Andreas Athanasiou scored to help Detroit gets its longest winning streak since a season-high four-game stretch Dec. 29 to Jan. 5.

”We have a job to do every night and every day, and we’ve got a lot of young guys in here,” Larkin said. ”Every day is an audition and guys are trying to earn whatever it might be, whether it is more ice time next year Logan Cooke Super Bowl LI Jersey ,whatever.

”Your position on this team and in this league has to be earned every day.”

Howard’s best save was a sliding left pad stop on a second-period breakaway by Ottawa forward Ryan Dzingel.

”It feels good,” Howard said after his 24th career shutout. ”It took 59 games, unreal, but at the same time the guys in front of me did a really great job, allowing me to see the puck.”

Mike Condon finished with 25 saves for the Senators Kyle Lauletta Jersey Elite , who were blanked for the ninth time this season.

”I can’t comment on the offense, because if that’s the case then all the offensive guys could comment on the goaltending,” Condon said. ”That’s a slippery slope.

”Everyone’s working their hardest. Everyone’s trying to get a couple in there.”

After a scoreless opening period, Detroit got on the board at 4:10 of the second. Taking advantage of a bad pinch by Senators defenseman Christian Wolanin, Anthony Mantha fed a pass across to Larkin on a 2-on-1 break James Washington Super Bowl LI Jersey , and Larkin flipped the puck in as Condon lunged desperately across his goal crease. It was Larkin’s fifth goal in the last seven games. He scored nine times in the first 72 games.

”That was a horrible play on my part,” Wolanin said. ”It cost us the first goal and eventually the game winner.”

Athanasiou increased the margin to 2-0 at 4:29 of the third. Using Evgeni Svechnikov as a screen, Athanasiou fired a high shot past Condon.

NOTES: Ottawa captain Erik Karlsson remained one point away from reaching 60 for the sixth time in his career. … The Senators, who play three of their final four games away from home, fell to 11-22-5 on the road – one win more than Montreal for the fewest in the NHL. Last season Authentic Wade Boggs Jersey , the Senators won 22 games away from home, fifth-best in the league. … The Red Wings improved to 17-6-2 in their last 25 games against Ottawa. That includes five straight wins by Detroit at home. Ottawa’s last road victory in in the series was a 3-1 decision on Oct. 30, 2015. … Henrik Zetterberg remained one point from breaking a tie with Sergei Fedorov (954) for fifth on the Red Wings’ all-time scoring list.

SAN JOSE Authentic Fernando Rodney Jersey , Calif. (AP) Bryan Little made sure Winnipeg went into the All-Star break with at least one overtime victory. In a season filled with success, the Jets finally got two points in their eighth overtime contest.

Little scored his second goal of the game 18 seconds into the extra period, lifting the Jets to a 5-4 victory over the San Jose Sharks on Tuesday night.

”We’d had our chances to win in overtime,” Little said. ”It definitely felt good tonight Denzel Ward Jersey Elite , especially after the way that game went.”

Joel Armia also scored twice and Mathieu Perreault had one goal to help the Jets win their third straight and fifth in the last seven. Connor Hellebuyck finished with 29 saves.

”We got a really good start and they clawed their way back into it,” Little said. ”It was a good hockey game, back and forth. It’s good to get the two points.”

Joe Pavelski, Logan Couture Malik Jefferson Super Bowl LI Jersey , Chris Tierney and Timo Meier scored for San Jose, which lost for the second time in seven games. Aaron Dell had 18 saves.

”We spotted them two or three goals but from that point on it was a gutsy effort to get a point,” Sharks coach Peter DeBoer said. ”There’s a feeling we’re never out of a game as long as there’s time on the clock.”

Armia’s second goal put the Jets ahead 4-3 with 8:22 remaining to play but Meier responded less than four minutes later for the Sharks. Marc-Edouard Vlasic’s shot was blocked by Dustin Byfuglien, and Meier won the battle to the puck and slipped it past Hellebuyck.

”It was a great comeback from all of us Authentic Jimmy Wynn Jersey ,” Meier said. ”We didn’t get the start we wanted but we got a point out of it.”

The Jets, who scored a goal apiece in each of its last four games, found the net three times in the first 12 minutes.

Perreault set the tone, scoring 18 seconds into the game with an assist from Nikolaj Ehlers.

Andrew Copp set up Armia’s first goal with a terrific pass from the blue line less than five minutes into the game.

Little scored on a power play Wholesale Justin Reid Jersey , redirecting Tyler Myers shot past Dell to make it 3-0 with just over just over eight minutes left in the opening period.

”You don’t want to give up the lead but you stick with the game plan,” Myers said. ”I thought the last 21 minutes we played very well.”

A heads up play from Pavelski put the Sharks on the scoreboard in the final minute of the first. Brenden Dillon’s shot bounced hard off Hellebuyck’s pads and Pavelski got to the rebound and fired in from 20 feet away.

The Sharks tied the score with two goals within a four-minute stretch of the second period.

Couture was trying to pass the puck midway through the period and flared on it. The puck floated between a pair of Jets’ defenders as Couture spun around 360 degrees and found it sitting on open ice. He struck quickly, before the puck was located by anyone else.

Tierney’s power-play goal came after a sharp left-to-right pass across the ice by Joe Thornton.

NOTES: The Jets improved to 23-1-4 when scoring first and 17-1-1 when leading after the first period. … Tierney recorded his career-high 12th goal of the season. … Perreault has three goals in his last four games. … Pavelski has nine points in his last eight games. … Thornton has nine points in his last seven games.

ENGLEWOOD Wholesale DJ Moore Jersey , Colo. (AP) Case Keenum couldn’t wait to get out of Minnesota.

No, he’s not bitter over the Vikings‘ decision to move on to Kirk Cousins.

And he isn’t gloating over being ”the man ” for the first time in his NFL career after signing a two-year, $36 million deal last month in Denver.

Article continues below ...

He’s just glad to see some sunshine, that’s all.

Before coming to Colorado for the Broncos‘ offseason program, Keenum made a stop in Minneapolis to accept the ”Uncommon Award” from Tony Dungy at Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska on Friday.

The only downer was the blizzard that struck the nation’s midsection.

”It dumped like 25 inches on us,” Keenum said. ”So, I was ready to get out of there and get to Denver and the sunshine.”

Keenum is entering the season as the starter for the first time in his six-year career after coach Vance Joseph declared him the Broncos’ No. 1 QB at the free agent’s introductory news conference a month ago.

Yet, Keenum’s role beyond 2018 remains up in the mile-high air because general manager John Elway could still use the fifth overall pick in next week’s NFL draft to select a quarterback.

Elway and his lieutenants have taken long B.J. Hill Jersey Elite , hard looks at this year’s college crop of QBs, including the ”Big Four ” prospects. They hosted Baker Mayfield on Monday but Keenum said he hadn’t run into him.

Keenum also insists he isn’t concerned that he’ll soon be tutoring his successor should Elway choose a quarterback.

”I’m excited for whoever’s going to come in and make us better,” Keenum said. ”That’s what competition breeds within your own team. I think it makes you better. So, whoever comes in I’ll be looking for them to help us be a better football team. No matter what position it is. I know they’re going to draft a lot of positions. It doesn’t change my mindset at all.”

Yet, non-QB blue chippers such as Penn State running back Saquon Barkley, North Carolina State defensive end Bradley Chubb or Notre Dame guard Quenton Nelson would provide immediate help for Keenum this season and maybe even stability for his future.

Von Miller has said he’d love to have Chubb lining up next to him.

”He’s Khalil Mack and Von Miller put together,” Miller said with a laugh. ”He is a great player and I would love to have him on my team. You don’t come across guys like that often. We don’t (normally) have the No. 5 pick in the draft. I hope we don’t have a high pick like that for a while. So if we can steal a player like that, I’m all for it.”

When Keenum reported to work Monday Authentic Fred Lynn Jersey , it marked the first time he’d been the unquestioned starting quarterback since his final days at the University of Houston, where he set NCAA passing records but still went undrafted before compiling a 20-18 record with the Vikings, Rams and Texans.

”It feels good, it does,” Keenum said. ”It’s not something where I feel like I’ve made it. That’s not ever my mentality. I’m going to stay hungry.

”Nothing’s ever been handed to me. I’ve earned that right, and I’m going to continue to earn that right being in this building, in the weight room, meeting room Authentic Antonio Callaway Jersey , practice field and then on game day.”

The Broncos’ anemic offense was a big reason for their slide to 5-11 last season, just two years after they won the Super Bowl, and Elway’s makeover includes the arrival of right tackle Jared Veldheer and the departure of running back C.J. Anderson on Monday.

Anderson could have provided a valuable sounding board to Keenum much like he did with Peyton Manning, Brock Osweiler and Trevor Siemian.

”It doesn’t change me and my mindset and what I’m prepared to do here and what I want to do here, what I feel like I need to do,” Keenum said. ”I know that NFL teams change constantly. So, I’m here right now, just trying to get into the building and just become familiar with everything.”

For now Natrell Jamerson Jersey Elite , the Broncos’ quarterback room also includes holdovers Paxton Lynch, a first-rounder in 2016 who so far has flopped, and Chad Kelly, last year’s Mr. Irrelevant who spent his rookie season on IR.

Keenum said his interactions with Lynch and Kelly have been good so far.

”We’ve got a great quarterback room, and I appreciate that because I’ve been in some other quarterback rooms that haven’t been,” Keenum said.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) If the Washington Redskins are going to make a run at the NFC East title Wholesale Mason Cole Jersey , they have to beat the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday night.

Yes, it’s a rare must-win game before the midpoint of the season.

The Redskins (3-2) already lost to the Eagles (5-1) at home in Week 1 so another loss drastically reduces their chances. And, they have a difficult schedule upcoming.

Article continues below ...

”I think that’s why you play in the NFL is for games like this,” quarterback Kirk Cousins said. ”To play against a really good team at their place and have a chance to put yourself in the hunt for the division and in the NFC. We’ve got to measure ourselves against really good football teams, and the Eagles certainly are one.”

Philadelphia has won four straight games, including an impressive 28-23 victory at Carolina last Thursday night.

Carson Wentz has been outstanding in his second season, and the offense has balance thanks to LeGarrette Blount’s tough running. Fletcher Cox leads a strong defense that is No. 1 against the run.

A win to kick off a three-game stretch at home would put the Eagles in a prime spot not only in the division but also in the NFC. But there’s a long way to go and they fell apart last season after a 3-0 start Wholesale Kyle Lauletta Jersey , finishing 7-9.

”We were (3-0) last year so obviously that didn’t play out too well for us,” tight end Zach Ertz said. ”I think that’s in the back of everyone’s mind.”

Here are some things to watch when the Eagles host the Redskins:

COOL AND CALM CARSON: Wentz’s highlight-reel play against Washington in the first meeting, spinning away from tacklers and tossing a 58-yard TD to Nelson Agholor, was a prelude for his breakout season. He has 13 TDs and only three interceptions while playing his best on third down.

Wentz has shown poise under pressure, smart decision-making and a take-charge attitude that’s helped him make a tremendous leap from his rookie season.

”What’s accelerating his growth is that he’s committed to the process wholeheartedly,” offensive coordinator Frank Reich said.

”He’s committed to his teammates, and maybe I think one of his best attributes is he’s not a `me’ guy Christian Kirk Jersey Elite , he’s a team player, and has a lot of mental and physical toughness and has the smarts and is committed to that process.”

SACK ATTACK: The Eagles sacked Cousins four times in the opener and held him to a season-low 57.5 percent completion rate.

They rely on a ferocious front four led by Cox and Brandon Graham to bring pressure, but defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz has called some well-timed blitzes . Opposing quarterbacks have a 53.5 passer rating against Philadelphia’s blitz.

”We have to do a much better job than we did the last time we played them handling their pressure,” coach Jay Gruden said. ”They have a very good pass rush, very strong defense. They’re well-coached on defense.”

THOMPSON BALANCE: Gruden has called enough running plays to shake the reputation that he’s a pass-happy coach with no interest in the ground game.

With Rob Kelley battling injuries and after rookie Samaje Perine fumbled, Gruden last week gave third down back Chris Thompson a career-high 16 carries.

Thompson leads the Redskins with 175 yards rushing and 340 receiving and has four touchdowns, so now the challenge is not wearing down the 5-foot-8 back. Gruden would like to get Thompson seven or eight carries and 10-15 touches a game.

”I think we gauge him on the sideline Wholesale Christian Kirk Jersey ,” Gruden said. Running backs coach Randy Jordan ”does a nice job of seeing how they are physically, talking to them, making sure they’re OK.”

UNCERTAIN SECONDARY: Wentz could face a Redskins secondary without top cornerbacks Josh Norman and Bashaud Breeland, though young players such as Quinton Dunbar, Kendal Fuller and Fabian Moreau have shown they can fill that void.

”Preparation equals performance,” Dunbar said. ”When we prepare, and with the talent we got and speed Fabian’s got Breeland Speaks Jersey Elite , the ability and the smartness Kendall’s got, we can play with anybody.”

KICKING GAME: Eagles rookie Jake Elliott has made 10 straight field goals, including his game-winning 61-yarder against the Giants in Week 3. His average distance during the streak is 45.4 yards.

The Redskins placed Dustin Hopkins on injured reserve and signed Nick Rose, who will make his NFL debut. He played college football at Texas.
